LAS VEGAS TECH REPORT (LVTR)

SELECTION: ROCKIES / DODGERS OVER 8

The total has gone OVER in 4 of Colorado's last 5 games when playing on the road against LA Dodgers. Francis is 1-3 with a 7.24 ERA in his last six starts. Penny is 0-4 pitching a dismal 9.76 ERA in his last five starts. Look for the bats to be swinging early and often.

Karl Garrett

Toronto +105 at NY YANKEES

I say go against the Yankees, and Joba Chamberlain in his first start at the big league level.

It is quite clear the Yankees don't get the hitting they need when they need it, and it is also quite clear the Yanks don't get the pitching they need when they need it!

That being the case, I will look for Doc Halladay to continue his 3-game winning streak at the expense of a Yankees' team that he has gone 10-5 his career against.

Toronto has lost their last pair of games, but so has New York, and there is no way Chamberlain is pitching more than 5 innings in his first start at this level.

With the Yanks' pen all kinds of suspect, take the Jays and Halladay to continue New York's bust of a season.

4* TORONTO

Ferrall's Locks

NL FREE B's FOR TUES

Arizona -115 on ML over Brewers--Big Unit beats McClung at Miller Park. Johnson is 18-7 in 30 starts vs Brew Crew in his career. Milw has won 4 straight and 7 of 8 overall. That all comes to an end tonight and their own skid of losses in 9 of 11.

CUBS -130 on ML over Padres--Chicago is just better than SD. Chicago has won 8 straight games and look to win the series quickly against the Pads. They won 7-6 Monday. They own the best record in baseball and have a 3 1/2 game lead over the Cards in the NL Central. Marquis beats Ledezma for win #9 in a row for Cubbies
DODGERS -140 on ML over Rockies--LA ripped the Rockies Monday night and Colroado is having a disasterous trip. They've lost 8 straight and Brad Penny owns them--he's won 9 straight starts against the Rockies. Penny is 9-0 in last 13 starts vs Colo. The Rocks have lost 13 straight on the road and 19 of 21 overall away from Coors Field. They BLOW ! TAKE THE OVER 8 RUNS

AL FREE B's FOR TUES

WHITE SOX -130 on ML over Kansas City--Gavin Floyd over Greinke at Comisky (that's what I call it ). Chicago will get back on track after losing 3 of 4 in Tampa. KC has lost 8 straight road games. Chicago is 14-8 vs the AL central this year. Since 2004, the WS are 23-7 vs the Royals at home. Greinke is 0-4 lifetime at Chicago.

A's -130 on ML over Tigers--Dontrelle Willis makes first start since coming off DL and won't go far in this one. Eveland gets it done for A's at home. Tigers are 3-4 on their road trip. Oakland won the opener Monday and make it two straight tonight

MARINERS -130 on ML over Angels--Bedard beats Joe Saunders in Seattle and TAKE THE UNDER 7.5 RUNS. These two have lowest ERA's in AL. Bedard's home ERA is 1.34 at Safeco and Saunders road ERA 1.87 and he's 4-1 away from Anaheim. Lefty's hit Bedard well (.304) but right-handed guys hit only .177 against him

Priceless Picks

1 Unit on Atlanta Braves -172

At 23-7, the Braves have been dominant at home this season. The Braves are 117-54 in their last 171 games as a home favorite of -151 to -200, 6-0 in their last 6 games as a favorite of -151 to -200, and 5-0 in their last 5 vs. the National League East. The Marlins are only 15-36 in the last 51 meetings in Atlanta and 3-7 in the last 10 meetings. Florida comes in having lost 5 of 6 and is a terrible 16-40 in its last 56 games as an underdog of +151 to +200. Take the Braves at home.

Steve Zukiel Guaranteed Selections

Colorado vs Los Angeles
Line: Los Angeles -120

The Colorado Rockies are in a world of hurt. They come into this one losers of eight straight baseball games and they have also lost 13 straight on the road. It's not that they are just losing these games, but they are getting punished in the meantime. During this eight game slide, they have allowed a whopping 69 runs. In their 13 game road losing streak, they have allowed a disgusting 98 runs. Things won't get much better tonight with Jeff Francis on the hill. The lefty has still yet to register a win in the NL this season. He is 1-5 and owns an ERA of 6.12. His numbers are even worse on the road, going 0-2 with his ERA climbing to 6.28. He will be facing a Los Angeles team that he has yet to beat this season and he will be facing them in Los Angeles, where the Dodgers are 5-1 versus lefties and are averaging 6 rpg.

Brad Penny takes the hill for the Dodgers and he is not pitching well as of late, but Colorado will definitely cure that. Penny has owned this team over his career, going 14-2 lifetime, including two more wins in 2008. I like the matchup and I like where this game is being played. Take the Dodgers as they win this one going away.

Info Plays

3* on Rays/Red Sox Under

Play Under - Road teams where the total is 8.5 to 10 (TAMPA BAY) - after 2 straight games where they stranded 5 or less runners on base, with a hot bullpen whose ERA is under 1.50 the last 5 games. This is a 44-16 Totals System backing the UNDER that is hitting 73.3% over the last 5 seasons. Tampa Bay is 17-4 UNDER after 4 or more consecutive home games this season. Matt Garza is coming to life for the Rays while Justin Masterson is making a name for himself in Boston. Garza is 22-8 UNDER when the total is 8.5 to 10 over the last 3 seasons. Both of these young starters will flourish tonight to keep this game UNDER 9 runs. David Ortiz is also out of the lineup with a wrist injury that will keep him benched for at least a month now. Bet the UNDER

PHILADELPHIA/ Cincinnati Under 10

The Under is 12-5-3 in Reds last 20 games following a loss and 14-6-1 in Reds last 21 after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game, while the Under is 10-1-1 in Eatons last 12 starts with the total set at 9.0-10.5 and 8-0 in his last 8 home starts. Yesterday I had a bunch of stats to support an Over play and it didn't turn out that way. Today There are some stats to support the Under today. Aaron Harrang has a nice 3.81 ERA overall and a 3.93 ERA on the road. Just 7.8 rpg have been scored in his starts this year, including just 8 rpg on the road and 8.33 rpg in his last 3 starts. Adam Eaton has a high 4.99 ERA overall, but in his starts just 7.82 rpg have been scored, while his ERA is 4.50 at home with just 7.4 rpg being scored in those starts. Also 8 rpg have been scored in his night starts and 7.67 rpg have been scored in his last 3 starts. The Reds score just 4.3 RPG on the road and 4.2 rpg at night, while the Phils score just 4.6 rpg vs right-handed starters and they allow just 4.2 rpg at home. This should be another close game like last night, with a run or 2 less being scored. Take the Under here.

10 Dime

RAYS (With Garza as listed pitcher)

Take the Rays as the small dog tonight over the Red Sox.

Boston will start rookie Justin Masterson, while Tampa will counter with Matt Garza.

Advantage Rays.

Garza is 2-0 with a 3.66 ERA in his last three games and 4-1 with a 3.78 ERA on the year. The right-hander is coming off an eight-inning gem in which he racked up 10 strikeouts in a 5-3 win over the Rangers on Wednesday.

Garza is also 2-0 with a 3.45 ERA in three career games against the Red Sox.

Boston will be without DH David Ortiz, although I’m still not sure how designated hitters get hurt in baseball.

Take the Rays as they grab the road win.

5 Dime

DIAMONDBACKS (With Johnson as listed pitcher)

Take the Diamondbacks for the road win over the Brewers tonight.

Arizona will start Randy Johnson, who has pitched well this year. The 44-year-old left-hander is 4-1 with a 3.83 ERA on the season, including 1-0 with a 1.35 ERA over his last three starts.

Johnson is 18-7 with a 3.44 ERA in 30 career starts against Milwaukee.

The Brewers will counter with Seth McClung, who was battered for six runs and eight hits in 4 2-3 innings in just his second start of the season Milwaukee lost 8-1 to Atlanta on Thursday.

Take the Diamondbacks as they grab the road win.

Oscarxena Sports

Arizona/Milwaukee Over 9 +1.17 (3 Unit Play)

The Brewers like I said yesterday do well against left handed starters but they will have their hands full with Randy Johnson this evening. Johnson has been pitching very well recently and especially on the road this year but he has never pitched before with HP umpire Scott Barry behind the plate. I will get to Barry in a minute as I think he is key to making the Over wager but needless to say the Brewers may have some trouble against Johnson. However, the Brewers have Seth McClung on the mound who I have no confidence whatsoever in and he has a 10.45 ERA at home and a 2.52 WHIP. I expect the Diamondbacks to be able to score against him tonight and that is Part One of why I like the Over. That brings me back to Scott Barry who is a relatively new umpire but has shown a big tendency towards Overs as he is 6-2 to the Over so far this year. Barry's games have averaged 12.1 runs and I will go with that key trend over anything else this evening and I recommend the Over here.
