Texas at NY YANKEES

Another total play for you tonight, as we like Texas and the Yankees to hold LOW.

New York is struggling to plate runs right now, as they have been held to just 5 runs their last 3 games, as they have played UNDER the total in 4 in a row, and 8 of 11.

Texas comes into this one on a 3-7-1 UNDER clip their last 11 ball games.

Rangers starter Kevin Millwood has been hit around hard of late, allowing 12 runs over his last 19 innings, but right now we don't think the Yanks could hit their way out of a wet paper bag.

The Yanks counter with Joba Chamberlain, and Joba has allowed just 2 earned runs his last 19 innings as a starter.

Doubtful the Rangers muster much off of Joba in this one, after getting just 2 in last night's win.

Play on the UNDER.

Karl Garrett

Cleveland +125 at WHITE SOX

Tonight I will go with the underdog Indians to snap their 3 game losing streak with their ace Cliff Lee on the mound.

Lee is a rockin' 11-1 on the year, and just worked 8 innings of 1 run ball in a home win over San Francisco, and he does bring a 7-1 road mark into tonight's game at US Cellular.

The Pale Hose ran their win streak to 5 straight with last night's win, but I didn't like the way their bullpen almost coughed up a 5 run lead. Chicago starter John Danks has been hot, with 18 innings of 1 run ball to his credit, but he hasn't worked past the 6th in any of his starts in the month of June, and with Chicago's bullpen getting a little nicked up last night, I can see them coughing up a few more tonight.

Take the Indians and Lee to snap their 3 game losing streak, and halt the Sox 5 game winning streak.

Jim Feist

PHI Phillies @ ATL Braves
Take PHI Phillies

Philadelphia has a powerful offense and they get to face a hittable pitcher here in Atlanta's Charlie Morton. He's allowed as many hits as innings pitched with an ERA over 4. Atlanta has all kinds of problems on offense, especially with slugger Chipper Jones hurting. Philadelphia starter Kyle Kendrick is 2-0 lifetime against the Braves and 7-3 for the season. A great spot for the visiting dog. Play the Phillies!

WAS Nationals @ FLA Marlins

Take WAS Nationals

Colin Balester has been recalled by the Nationals, who feel he's ready to assume a spot in their regular rotation. Marlins lefty Mark Hendrickson has been in horrible form for several starts now, and looms as one of the better fades in the game at this point. I see some good value with the Nationals as dogs in this contest.

STEVE JANUS

PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

Philly has won 8 of their last 9 against teams with a losing record and 5 of their last 6 as a road underdog. They are playing an Atlanta team that is 1-4 in their last 5 divisional games, 2-11 in their last 13 as a favorite of -110 to -150 and just 1-5 in home games against a team with a winning record.

BOB HARVEY

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Houston Astros
TAKE: UNDER 9

The Dodger offense is MIA and fans are sending out an SOS (Save Our Season) to Dodger management. Joe Torre?s club has now scored two run in their last three games and one run or fewer in its last seven games. To make matters worse, leadoff man Juan Pierre went on the disabled list with a strained MCL leaving LA without a true top of the lineup hitter. Pierre, who is hitting .277, ranks second in the National League with 35 stolen bases. He joins Rafael Furcal, Andruw Jones, Nomar Garciaparra on the DL, meaning half the starting lineup the Dodgers were counting on in spring training is now on the shelf. Also on the DL are catcher Gary Bennett and pitchers Brad Penny, Hiroki Kuroda, Scott Proctor and Jason Schmidt. Tonight, Texas native Clayton Kershaw gets the start for LA. The 20-year old Kershaw has pitched well but is still seeking his first big league win. He?ll be opposed by lefty Wandy Rodriguez who is just 3-3, but has a fine ERA of 2.58. The Dodgers rank 18th in the league in hitting (.258) but 28th in scoring with just 4.05 runs per game. Houston ranks 23rd in scoring averaging 4.39 runs per game.Until the Dodgers show me they can hit water afer falling out of a boat (old Tommy Lasorda line), I'm staying UNDER with this ice cold Dodger offense

WINNING SPORTS

Selection: Oakland Athletics -105

Today the Oakland Athletics will be on the road as they take on the Los Angeles Angels. We will side with the Oakland Athletics! One reason why we will side with the Oakland Athletics is because they will be sending to the mound the much better pitcher. This says it all... The Oakland Athletics Starting Pitcher (Rich Harden) has a 0.46 ERA in his last 3 starts, while Los Angeles Angels Starting Pitcher (Ervin Santana) has a 4.82 ERA in his last 3 starts. As you can see, the Oakland Athletics will be sending to the mound the much better starting pitcher. We see the Oakland Athletics beating the Los Angeles Angels tonight! Take the Oakland Athletics!

TONY MATHEWS

Texas Rangers vs. New York Yankees
Selection: New York Yankees -1.5 Runs -105

The Texas Rangers will use starting pitcher Kevin Millwood. Kevin Millwood has struggled this season. In fact, Kevin Millwood has a 5.08 ERA on the season. In addition, Kevin Millwood has a 5.68 ERA in his last 3 starts. We see Kevin Millwood pitching another bad game today.

The New York Yankees will use starting pitcher Joba Chamberlain. Joba Chamberlain has pitched well this season. In fact, Joba Chamberlain has a 2.03 ERA on the season. In addition, Joba Chamberlain has a 0.98 ERA in his last 3 starts. We see Joba Chamberlain pitching another great game today.

The New York Yankees are 17-4 in their last 21 meetings against the Texas Rangers], and should be able to get another blowout win tonight!

Take the New York Yankees -1.5 Runs

Black Widow Sports

1* on St. Louis Cardinals -136

St. Louis is coming around and we’ll gladly take the Cards as a small home favorite over the Mets tonight. The Cards enter tonight’s game on a 3-game winning streak and they hand the ball to one of their best starters in Todd Wellemeyer. This right is 7-2 with a solid 3.46 ERA on the year for St. Louis. Tony Armas makes his first start of 2008 tonight for the Mets who are struggling to find consistency in their rotation. Wellemeyer pitched a gem in his only career start against the Mets last year, allowing one earned run on three hits in six frames. The Mets are 6-17 (-20.6 Units) against the money line vs. good defensive catchers - allowing 0.5 or less SB's/game in the second half of the season over the last 2 seasons. New York cannot utilize their speed at the top of the lineup with Yadier Molina manning home plate for the Cardinals. Take St. Louis on the Money Line here.

3* on Arizona Diamondbacks -116

Arizona’s Randy Johnson gets back on track tonight at home against the Brewers. Johnson is 9-4 with a 3.28 career ERA against the Brew Crew. Arizona is 77-48 in all home games over the last 2 seasons. On the other hand, Milwaukee is just 8-25 in road games against NL West opponents over the last 3 seasons. The Brewers are 7-22 in road games vs. teams whose hitters strike out 7 or more times/game over the last 2 seasons. The Diamondbacks are 33-15 in home games vs. an NL team with a team batting average of .255 or worse over the last 2 seasons. Bet Arizona at home.

Vegas Experts

Chicago Cubs at San Francisco Giants

The Giants' Matt Cain can never be trusted as he owns a 6-12 team start record as a home favorite and tonight will be facing a Cubs lineup that got back in track in last night's series opener. The opposition, Jason Marquis, has a 4-0 TSR vs. San Francisco with all of the victories coming here by the Bay. The Cubs have just dominated the NL West all season long, winning 19 of 24 against baseball's weakest division.

Play on: Chicago Cubs
