San Francisco Giants at New York Mets
Prediction: New York Mets

Reason: Mets starts Pelfry on the mound as they host San Francisco on Tuesday night. Pelfry has been in awesoem form, winning his last 3 trips to the mound while allowing 1 Earned Run or less in 2 of those 3 starts. With the Giants heading to New York after 7 consecutive home games, we'll back the Mets, who are a solid 22-18 at home this year.

TONY MATHEWS

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Washington Nationals
Selection: Washington Nationals +145

The Arizona Diamondbacks will use starting pitcher Brandon Webb. Brandon Webb has struggled this season. In fact, Brandon Webb has a 5.24 ERA on the season. In addition, Brandon Webb has a 7.47 ERA in his last 3 starts. We see Brandon Webb pitching another bad game today.

The Washington Nationals will use starting pitcher Odalis Perez. Odalis Perez has been up/down this season (3.78 ERA on the season). It's smart to note that Odalis Perez has been pitching very good as of late. In fact, Odalis Perez has a 1.98 ERA in his last 3 starts. We see Odalis Perez pitching another great game today.

The bottom line, there is much value with the Washington Nationals as underdogs!

Take the Washington Nationals

Chicago White Sox/Kansas City Royals
Plays : Chicago/Kansas City Over 9

The Chicago White Sox will be lead by starting pitcher Jose Contreras. Jose Contreras has been having huge pitching problems as of late. In fact, Jose Contreras has a 8.80 ERA in his last 3 starts. We see Jose Contreras giving up many runs once again today.

The Kansas City Royals will be lead by starting pitcher Kyle Davies. Kyle Davies has also been having huge pitching problems as of late. In fact, Kyle Davies has a 11.57 ERA in his last 3 starts. We see Kyle Davies also giving up many runs once again today.

To say the least, we should see many runs scored tonight!

FLORIDA MARLINS

Here we have two teams that have been cold as of late, but the Padres have lost 8 in a row at home and they don't have the offense that the Marlins do. Florida starter, Andrew Miller beat the Padres the last time he faced them, part of a 2-1 series win for the Marlins. More of the same to continue this week with the Marlins in need of those wins.

Atlanta/Los Angeles Under 7.5

Reason: Put us down on the Atlanta Braves/Los Angeles Dodgers Under 7.5 for our Free MLB Selection on Tuesday. Today we expect a low-scoring game as the Atlanta Braves do battle with the Los Angeles Dodgers. One reason why we expect a low-scoring game is because both these teams will be sending to the mound solid starting pitchers. This says it all... The Atlanta Braves Starting Pitcher (Jair Jurrjens) has a 2.89 ERA in his last 3 starts, while Los Angeles Dodgers Starting Pitcher (Chad Billingsley) has a 1.64 ERA in his last 3 starts. In addition, these teams have been playing low-scoring games as of late. In fact, the Under is a Perfect 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these teams. We expect to see another low-scoring game today. Take the Atlanta Braves/Los Angeles Dodgers Under 7.5

Matt Fargo

Atlanta Braves @ Los Angeles Dodgers
PICK: Atlanta Braves

The Dodgers are creeping back into the picture in the National League West as they have won six of their last seven games which is easily their best run since winning 10 of 11 in late April and early May. They have been doing it with pitching as the offense has been fairly non-existent as has been the case for most of the season. Los Angeles is hitting just .257 on the year including .226 over its last 10 games and its 4.1 rpg on the year is tied for 24th in the Majors. That drops to 3.9 rpg in home games, good for 26th in baseball.

The Braves season long road woes continued last night as they were shut out for the second consecutive time away from home. They average just 3.8 rpg on the road and that has been the main cause for winning only 12 games away from home this season. The last shutout however was prior to its recent six-game homestand and before that, Atlanta was 5-4 in its last nine roadies and averaging 4.9 rpg in those contests so there has been a steady improvement. The 3.77 ERA for the season is 2nd in the N.L. behind the Dodgers.

Part of the reason for that pitching success has been due to the throwing of Jair Jurrjens. He is 8-4 with a 3.09 ERA on the season, the latter which leads the team. He is coming off his best stretch of the season. He had an average games last time out, allowing four runs in seven innings against the Phillies but previous to that, he had not allowed a single earned run in three straight outings, covering 21.2 innings. His ERA over the last four games is a stellar 1.26 and his road ERA of 3.35 is nothing to discard.

Chad Billingsley has had a similar run as he has not allowed and earned run in two straight games, covering 15 innings. Prior to this however it was not as good as he posted a 4.63 ERA in his previous four outings. Even though the Braves offense was completely shut down last night as they compiled only one hit, it should not be a repeat. Billingsley has faced the Braves once already this year and Atlanta got the best of him, piling up four runs on six hits and five walks in just five innings. Play Atlanta Braves 1.5 Units

ChiSox -125 over KANSAS CITY 2 UNIT PLAY

The White Sox are 23-8 in their last 31 games as a favorite of -110 to -150 and 9-3 in their last 12 during game 1 of a series, while the 9-21 in their last 30 home games with the total set at 9.0-10.5 and 0-7 in their last 7 games vs. a right-handed starter. The Sox have been rolling a bit of late, winning 9 of their last 11 games, scoring 5 or more runs in 6 of those games, while allowing 3 runs or less in 7 of those games. The Sox have struggled to score on the road, but they do score 5.1 rpg vs righties this year and 5.7 rpg vs their division. That offense will face a struggling Kyle Davies, who is 3-1 overall with a 4.71 ERA overall, but just 0-1 with an 11.57 ERA in his last 3 starts. The Royals offense has struggled this year, scoring just 4.2 rpg at home, 3.8 rpg vs righties and 3.5 rpg within the division. Jose Contreras has had a decent year overall, going 7-6 with a 4.02 ERA overall, including a 3-3 mark with a 4.83 ERA on the road. He has had a rough time in his last 3 starts, going 1-1 with an 8.80 ERA, but the Sox are 2-1 in those starts. Jose has done very well in his career vs the Royals as he is 9-4 with a 3.27 ERA in 16 starts vs them. Kansas City has a nice win yesterday vs the Rays, but they are paying a hot ChiSox team that is 24-11 within the division. Jose will have good showing here, while Davies continues to struggle, giving Chicago another win vs a division opponent.

Vegas Experts

Los Angeles Angels at Texas Rangers

Continue to ride the Angels away from home as they remain a MLB best 28-15 on the road. One of their three "ace" pitchers will be on the mound this evening in Joe Saunders, who is 6-2 with a 2.05 ERA on the road this year. He'll face unknown Matt Harrison. The Angels have won 13 of Saunders' 17 starts overall this season and are a devastating 16-5 vs. southpaws this season, which is right at the top of the majors.

Play on: LA Angels

Minnesota Twins vs. Boston Red
Play: Boston Red Sox

Ai Simulator 3* graded play on Boston – Supporting this graded play is a system that has gone 86-53 making 34 units since 2002. Play on home teams that are average hitting teams batting .265 to .279 and with an AL starting pitcher whose WHIP is 1.300 to 1.400 on the season and is now facing a good AL starting pitcher posting an ERA <=4.20. Lester is coming off another great start with a complete game shutout allowing just 5 hits versus the Yankees. Boston is a strong Boston is 16-2 (+13.2 Units) against the money line in home games versus a good bullpen whose WHIP is 1.350 or better this season. Take Boston

Nelly

Colorado + over Milwaukee

C.C. Sabathia is a big name acquisition for the Brewers but expecting great results in his first start is a bit optimistic. Sabathia has always been a better pitcher at home and he will take a few games to adjust to Miller Park. Colorado is also a team on the rise right now with great offensive numbers in recent games and wins in six of the last seven. As bad as the season started for Colorado the Rockies are right in the thick of the NL West race as Arizona and Los Angeles continue to leave the door open. Mark Redman had terrible numbers early in the season but after two months away from the big leagues he delivered a strong start back in the rotation last week. He is capable of a solid outing and the Colorado offense can pull off the upset. Give the huge underdog value on a team that is playing well it makes sense to go against Sabathia given the unusual circumstances and added pressure this start will carry.

Tom Stryker

Chicago White Sox vs. Kansas City Royals
Play: Chicago White Sox

The White Sox are clinging to a 1.5-game lead over the Twins in the American League Central standings and that fact makes this series against the division rival Royals extremely important.

Roughing up Kansas City pitcher Kyle Davies won't be a problem for the Pale Hose. In his last three trips to the bump against Baltimore, St. Louis and San Francisco, Davies got rocked for 15 earned runs and 21 hits in only 11.2 innings of work. That breaks down to a horrendous 11.57 ERA!

Getting the call for Chicago will be hard throwing Jose Contreras. After getting blasted by the Cubs on June 21st (9 ER and 10 H in 3.1 Innings), Contreras settled down in his last two performances against Chicago (again) and Cleveland. In 12 frames, Jose was jacked for only six earned runs and 13 hits. Don't forget, No. 52 does his best work with the lights shining brightly. At night, Contreras has been nicked for just 25 earned runs and 62 hits in 74.0 innings. That adds up to a respectable 5-3 record and a solid 3.04 ERA!

There are a handful of solid team trends that back this White Sox investment too. Chicago has cashed 24 of its last 35 against division opponents and cashed 38 of its last 55 when laying lumber. Meanwhile, Kansas City has won only two of its last nine division affairs and two of its last eight at home with Davies on the hill.

The Pale Hose need to close before the All-Star break with a mini-run. It all starts tonight with a victory over Kaycee. Take the Chicago White Sox with listed pitcher Contreras.
