Locksmith Sports

1 Unit on Houston Astros -115

We'll take the red hot Astros at a bargain price here behind their ace. The Astros are 5-0 in their last 5 overall, 7-1 in Oswalt's last 8 starts as a home favorite of -110 to -150, 7-1 in Oswalt's last 8 starts vs. National League West, 50-18 in Oswalt's last 68 home starts, and 81-39 in Oswalt's last 120 starts as a favorite. The Giants are just 2-8 in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a winning home record, 5-16 in their last 21 vs. National League Central, and 5-15 in their last 20 games as an underdog. Bet the Astros.

From: THE BOOKIE PAYS YOU:
================================================

Your Tuesday Bounce Back Release:

Can you say... CHOKE JOB! The Mets have a 5-1 lead going
into the eighth inning and give up three runs in the eighth, and
three in the ninth! Lets get back on the winning track today.
ANGELS, ANGELS, ANGELS, ALL THE WAY! The Angels
are now 13-4 versus the slumping Mariners in L.A this year,
and 14-3 in their last 17 home games. While the Mariners are
just 1-4 in their last five overall, and 1-7 in their last eight as an
underdog. ANGELS ALL THE WAY IN THIS ONE! ***** Thanks. :-*

================================================

My comment:

Yesterday I saw some analysis from other handicappers which
was pro Pittsburgh which was the team the Mets were playing in
yesterday's lost game. So because of that pro analysis from a
couple of other handicappers I bet less than I would have before.
Perhaps this kind of strategy is good? You can decide for
yourself. 8)

Chicago @ Atlanta
Play: Cubs -150 (20*)

Comments: Cubs (Harden) @ Atlanta (Morton)
The Cubs starter Rich Harden comes off of his toughest outing of the season. However you can count on this super starting pitcher to bounce back with a great effort. Harden has allowed just 7 earned runs in his last 7 road starts. The Atlanta starter Morton is just 1-4 with his home team starts this season with a horrible 8.39 ERA, 1.74 WHIP, and allowed 5 home runs in just 24.2 innings. The Braves are just 2-7 in their last 9 at home. The Cubs are 18-8 in their last 26 opening games of a series. Chicago is also 57-26 in their last 83 as a favorite. Play on the Chicago Cubs as my 20* Lay the Chalk Game of the Month.

St Louis @ Florida
Play On: 1* St Louis +110

This Cardinals team is a pretty good hitting team as their batting averages as a team are .276 overall, .281 on the road and .283 against right handed starters this year. On the other hand, the Marlins batting average at home is a very poor .242. Kyle Lohse is 13-4 overall this year and 6-2 on the road this season. Chris Volstad is 0-2 at home this year. St Louis is 10-3 overall vs Florida last 3 years including 6-1 at Florida. We'll recommend a small play on St Louis tonight!

Priceless Picks

1 Unit on Milwaukee Brewers -119

The Padres stand no chance against a red hot Brewers squad tonight. The Brewers are 6-0 in their last 6 overall, 13-3 in their last 16 road games, 5-0 in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400, and 4-0 in their last 4 vs. the National League West. The Brewers are 4-0 in Suppan's last 4 road starts and 4-0 in Suppan's last 4 starts vs. the National League West. The Padres are just 15-33 in their last 48 overall and 13-38 in their last 51 vs. a team with a winning record. Take the Brew Crew.

Stephen Nover

St. Louis Cardinals @ Florida Marlins
PICK: Over

St. Louis and Florida are two underrated power teams. The Marlins rank No. 3 in the majors in home runs, while the Cardinals rate 10th. They both are in the top 10 in slugging percentage.

The Marlins can be a particularly attractive 'over' team because they don't field very well. They've committed the second most errors in the majors, most in the National League.

St. Louis is 10-2-1 to the 'over' in its last 13 road games. The Cardinals have Rick Ankiel back in the lineup. They're facing Florida rookie Chris Volstad. He's looked good on the road, but is 0-2 at home with a 5.73 ERA.

Cardinals starter Kyle Lohse has cooled off after pitching surprisingly well this season. He has a 7.27 ERA in his last three starts. He's also given up five homers during this span.

Ted Sevransky

Cincinnati Reds @ Pittsburgh Pirates
PICK: Pittsburgh Pirates

The Reds have already quit on manager Dusty Baker, simply going through the motions through the dog days of August. After trading Adam Dunn and Ken Griffey Jr, this lineup is anemic at best. A 2-14 record in their last 16 games tells only part of the story – only one of those 14 losses came by a single run, the remainder of the defeats coming in less competitive fashion. There’s little reason to think that All Star Edison Volquez can stem the losing tide here – he’s faded badly in recent weeks, allowing at least four runs in every start since the All Star game. The bullpen behind him is an absolute disaster area.

Yet Volquez’s first half reputation is keeping this line very reasonable for Pittsburgh supporters. The Pirates actually have some positive momentum, rallying from four runs down to beat the Mets to close out their road trip yesterday. Even after their own trade deadline deals, the Pirates have responded well: 10-10 in their last 20 games, winners of three of their last five. Pittsburgh has a winning record at home, a moneymaker for their supporters at PNC Park, while Cinci’s 21-36 road mark has left their supporters in a world of hurt. With starter Jeff Karstens coming off back-2-back dominating efforts, throwing 15 scoreless innings against the Cubs and D-backs, the Pirates are the clear choice tonight. Take Pittsburgh.
