1 Unit on Seattle Mariners -145
Seattle is 9-3 in all meetings with the Padres over the last 3 seasons, including a PERFECT 6-0 in all games played in San Diego. I’ll back Felix Hernandez and the Mariners every time in this spot. Herndandez is 6-3 with a 3.06 ERA this season, and he’s been even better on the road where he is 3-1 with a 2.36 ERA away from home. The righty has been mowing down hitters frequently of late, going 1-0 with a 0.87 ERA in his last 3 starts. Those 3 starts featured road games at Baltimore and at the Angels, along with a home game against the Twins. Hernandez gave up just 2 earned runs in 20.7 innings of work in those 3 outings. Hernandez is 10-2 after giving up 1 earned run or less in his last start since 1997. The Mariners are 5-0 in Hernandez’ last 5 interleague starts. The Padres are 2-14 in their last 16 interleague games as an underdog. Cash in with Seattle as the favorite.

3* on Detroit Tigers -120
Reasons why the Tigers win:
1.) Justin Verlander. The righty has returned to his “Ace” form this season, going 7-2 with a 3.02 ERA. Verlander is really killing it recently, going 2-0 with a 1.57 ERA in his last 3 starts which included a complete game his last time out and 8 scoreless innings two starts ago. The Tigers have won 5 of 6 meetings with St. Louis over the last 3 seasons.
2.) Detroit is 14-3 against the money line in road games after 3 consecutive games versus an interleague opponent over the last 3 seasons. The Cardinals have lost 7 of their last 10 games and they are not scoring enough runs to win right now. St. Louis is putting up just 3.0 RPG through six interleague games this season. The Tigers are 41-10 in their last 51 interleague games as the favorite, and Detroit is 7-1 in Verlander’s last 8 starts as a favorite. Bet the Tigers on the road.

Atlanta at CINCINNATI +110
We are on a 9-3 comp play run the last 12 days!
One National League game tonight, as the slumping Braves take on the slumping Reds.
Atlanta has lost their last pair, and 4 of their last 5, while Cincy is back home fresh off a sweep at Kansas City to run their losing streak to 4 in a row.
So who wins tonight
We are siding with the host, as the Reds do at least get the advanatge of playing at home for this one, and they will have Aaron Harang on the hill. Harang has gone 4-2 at home this season, with a 2.84 ERA.
Jair Jurrjens will counter for the Braves, and he has lost his last pair of starts, and we feel the summer heat seems to be taking its toll on him as well.
Atlanta did win 2 of 3 earlier this season at Cincy, but the Reds are still 7-3 since 2007 at home against the Braves.
Play on Cincinnati.

NY Mets +110 at BALTIMORE
Back to interleague action this Tuesday night, and the G-Man senses the Mets are due for a breakthrough game.
New York lost a couple of extra-inning affairs at home to Philadelphia last week, then followed that series up by dropping 2 of 3 to the Yankees, including Sunday's ugly 15-0 skunk-job!
Mike Pelfrey was solid in his start against the Phillies his last time out, going 6 strong, while allowing 2 runs to score in a no decision. If he gives the Mets another effort like that, you would think New York will break through against Jeremy Guthrie who has lost his last pair of starts, allowing 9 runs in just 7 innings of work.
Guthrie's season ERA is at 5.52, and the Mets still have enough offense in their injury-riddled lineup to take advantage.
Big breakout game for New York tonight after taking it on the chin the past few days.
Take the Mets.

White Sox at CUBS -155
The Windy City series kicks off today and we love the Cubs to get the opener behind the pitching of Carlos Zambrano (4-2, 3.39 ERA).
The big right-hander has looked very good in his last three starts and we might be starting to see what we thought we'd see all season. He was in Houston on Wednesday and held the Astros to one run on three hits in eight innings, but his offense let him down and the Cubs ended up losing 2-1.
Zambrano went to Cincinnati on June 5 and blanked the Reds on two hits for 6.2 innings and got the 2-1 victory. In his last three starts he's allowed two earned runs in 21 innings of work. Against the White Sox, Zambrano is 5-2 with a 4.45 ERA in 62.2 innings.
The Cubs have gone 9-4 in the last 13 meetings against their city rivals, including six of the last seven at Wrigley Field. The Cubs are also on runs of 24-8 at home against southpaws and 5-2 after a day off.
On the hill for the White Sox is lefty John Danks (4-5, 4.81). He had a decent outing on Wednesday at home against the Tigers, giving up two runs on five hits in 7.1 innings but lost 2-1. In his two outings prior to that he gave up nine runs in 11 innings and went 0-1 against the Indians and Royals. He's only seen the Cubs once and gave up one run on five hits in six innings.
These games between these two always get a little heated and the players always get a little more pumped up than normal. When Zambrano is focused, he is as good as any pitcher in baseball and you can count on him being focused for this one.
Play the Cubs.

Seattle at SAN DIEGO
For starters, Seattle ace Felix Hernandez has been a freakin’ stud over the past three weeks, giving up a total of three earned runs in his last four outings totaling 28 2/3 innings. That’s a 0.94 ERA, if you care. And in his last three road starts – at Baltimore (one run allowed in seven innings), at the Angels (one unearned run in 6 2/3 innings) and at Texas (no runs allowed in seven innings) – King Felix has yielded a total of one earned run in 20 2/3 innings.
Tonight, Hernandez faces the weak-hitting Padres, who just got outscored 26-7 over the weekend at the Angels (losing all three games). Taking a much larger sample size, San Diego is hitting just .214 in its home ballpark this season and .221 over its last 10 games overall. Also, the Padres have faced Hernandez three times the last two years in interleague play, with the right-hander giving up a total of seven runs in 17 innings (3.70 ERA) with 20 strikeouts against just five walks.
Finally, Seattle has owned this mini-rivalry lately, winning eight of the last nine meetings overall, including a three-game sweep at Petco Park last year (all of them multi-run victories). In fact, the Mariners are 8-0 in their last nine games in San Diego. Throw in the fact that Seattle has won five straight Hernandez starts against the National League while the Padres have dropped 11 of their last 15 overall, and this one’s a no-brainer.

For Tuesday take the Mariners at Safeco.
Certainly Seattle is not going to win the World Series this season but Felix Hernandez is a stud and to get him at this price, even on the road, in this spot is fine with me.
Hernandez is a guy that has always had phenomenal stuff but has never fully lived up to his potential superstar status due to injuries and just flat out being too inconsistent. But over the past month the righty has been brilliant and today in a total pitchers ballpark of PETCO and up against probably thee single worst offense in the game in these Padres I can't help but expect Hernandez' red hot roll to continue. Besides Adrian Gonzalez the Friars boast very little, if not nothing at all and it is going to take a ton for any of those light hitters to do anything here.
Kevin Correia toes the rubber for the Padres. The guy is extremely mediocre and against the Mariners may be alright, as in five or six innings and three or so runs but in the end many more times than not Correia cannot keep up with Hernandez as Ichiro, Branyan, Beltre and the rest of the Mariner offense plates at least a few runs today which could be a few more for sure than San Diego is able to muster.
This thing has 4-1 M's written all over it!

Today's Selection
The Mets come into tonight’s game getting a shot at an Orioles team that has struggled mightily lately, having won only 4 of its last 14 games and only 3 of its last 8 at home.
Scheduled to take the mound for Baltimore is Jeremy Guthrie, who has been horrible for the Orioles this season. Baltimore has won only 2 of Guthrie’s last 11 starts and comes into this game having lost each of his last 3 starts.
Over Guthrie’s last 6 home starts the Orioles have gone only 1-5 and have lost each of his last 2 home starts.
Guthrie will struggle once again tonight as the Mets get over on the road in this one.

Washington Nationals vs. New York Yankees
Play: New York Yankees -1.5
The NYY finished off there crosstown rivals with a beatdown of the best pitcher in the NL and today they take on the worst team in the league. Not good new for the Nationals who come off a sweep by TB. The Washington Nationals have the worst record overall and the worst road record in all the Major League. This stadium is great when playing the Run Line as more than 70 percent of the games have won by more than one run. The NYY hit at least 3 HR's today and might score double digits again. Atlanta limps into town playing some bad baseball, losing 4 of 6 to the Pirates and Orioles -- not exactly powerhouse teams. Righty Jair Jurrjens has hit a wall, at 1-2 with a 5.50 ERA his last three starts. Cincy ace Aaron Harang still has it, with a 67-20 strikeout to walk ratio and 5 wins. He also ha a 3.48 lifetime ERA against the Braves. Play the Reds.

HOUSTON ASTROS / TEXAS RANGERS
Take TEXAS RANGERS
Wandy Rodriguez seems to be falling back into his old pattern of pitching well at home and getting roasted on the road. That's good news for the Rangers, who want to get back on track after dropping their weekend series with the Dodgers. With Kevin Millwood throwing for the hosts tonight, I like the Rangers to cash a winning ticket.
