Boston Red Sox at Washington Nationals
Prediction: Boston Red Sox
The Nasty Nats are 4-1 in their L5 but face the real deal tonight in the Red Sox. Brad Penny got off to a rough start (6-2, 4.74) but has found his form with 2.70 ERA in L3. John Lannan is as good as it gets for Wash at 4-5 and a 3.38 ERA. He's 2-0 and 1.16 in L3 but Penny has always handled Nats easily (12-4, 2.54) and BoSox are in best spot, 9-0 this year after off day. Lay it with the intruders.

1 Unit on Chicago Cubs +118
I know Edwin Jackson has been good for the Tigers this season, but I have to go with the more proven Carlos Zambrano who has been better. The Cubs are 8-3 in Big Z's starts this season. He is 3-1 on the road with a 2.58 ERA and 1-0 over his last 3 starts with a 1.66 ERA. The Cubs are 40-16 in Zambrano's last 56 road starts, 10-2 in his last 12 starts during game 1 of a series, and 7-1 in his last 8 starts as a road underdog of +110 to +150. The Cubs have won 4 of 5, and did not go all out last night in a make up game with Atlanta as Piniella held out Soriano. Expect a rested Soriano to have a big game tonight as the Cubs steal one on the road in interleague play.

COL (-115) vs ANA
I suggest riding the RED HOT Rockies tonight, as they are just smashing the baseball & they have both a starting pitching advantage & a bullpen advantage. The Angels went through a flurry of relief pitchers last night as Palmer didnt get out of the 5th inning. Ride the RED HOT Rockies tonight fellas.

Selection: Colorado -119
This selection is mainly based on one of the strongest trends in predicting short-term baseball winners. That trend is hot and cold streaks. Colorado is the hottest team in baseball, and I am looking to take them every chance I get. Their bats are absolutely red hot right now, as they have hit well over .300 as a team in 7 of their last 9 games, including an 11 run explosion last night. The Rockies also have a good pitching advantage here with Ubaldo Jimenez. He has pitched well on the road, and he has allowed 2 runs or less in 6 of his last 9 starts. Look for the Rockies to continue their hot hitting and get the win.

(918) Milwaukee Brewers -$116
(Listing Suppan and Liriano)
The Brewers starting pitcher Jeff Suppan has been pitching
very well, giving up just five earned runs in his last three starts
covering 18 innings. The Twins starting pitcher Francisco
Liriano continues to have trouble during the second time
through a lineup, and doesn't dominate the way he did as a
rookie before his elbow problem flared up. I'll fade him here
on the road where Liriano is 1-4 with a 6.43 ERA and he will
also have to swing the bat in this game. Play on the Brewers
to pick up the win here.

Chicago Cubs at DETROIT -125
I’m 4-1 with my last five overall free plays!
Take the Tigers tonight at home over the Cubs.
Detroit is riding a four-game winning streak and will send one of the league’s leaders in ERA in Edwin Jackson. The right-hander is 6-4 with a 2.39 ERA on the year.
The Tigers are also in the midst of a five-game home winning streak.
The Cubs will send Carlos Zambrano to the hill and he hasn’t been as dominating in interleague play as he’s been in NL action. The right-hander is 4-2 with a 3.44 ERA on the year, but owns a 7-5 mark with a 4.81 ERA in 17 lifetime interleague starts.
Take the Tigers as they grab the home win.

San Francisco Giants at Oakland Athletics
San Francisco dropped last night’s game, 5-1 versus the A's, but has won five of the last 6 contests against Oakland.Giants’ right-hander Tim Lincecum (6-2, 2.72 ERA) is 2-0 with a 1.33 ERA in three career starts against the Athletics. Oakland’s rookie Vin Mazzaro (2-1, 1.75) is 0-1 in his career against Tim Lincecum and the Giants.Go with the Giants tonight to get back to winning ways with their ace Tim Lincecum on the hill.

St Louis Cardinals vs. New York Mets
Play: Over 9
The Cards are hitting .302 over their last 7 games and scoring over 7 runs per game in the process. They have gone over the total in 4 of their last 5.The Mets have also hit well over the last 7 games even with all the injuries.NY.is hitting .290 over the last 7 and have gone over 3 of 4 times as a home dog in this range.ST.Louis has gone over the total all 3 times as a road favorite in this range. The pitching matchup also suggests an over as the Cards have Righty J.Pinerio and his 5.27 road era tonight vs the Mets and L.Hernandez, who has been better than expected this year but was roughed up pretty bad vs ST.Louis earlier in the year.
Lenny Del Genio
San Diego Padres at Seattle Mariners
Prediction: Over
The Padres and Mariners played Under in all three meetings earlier this month and that helped kickstart a run of Unders for both teams. Seattle has now gone Under in seven of eight while San Diego has done the same in five of their last seven. However, you can look for plenty of runs this evening with Chad Gaudin on the hill for the Fathers. Gaudin has posted a 10.29 ERA over his last three starts and in seven road starts his ERA is 6.87. Furthermore, over the last three seasons, San Diego is 17-6 Over when playing with a day off. Take Over.

San Francisco Giants @ Oakland Athletics
PICK: Over 7
This line dropped as low as a 6.5 this morning and, while we understand the move that does not mean that we agree with it! These guys just faced off in San Francisco less than two weeks ago and that means this is a quick second look for both lineups. Also, since the rematch is an American League park we get the added benefit of the designated hitter here. The A's actually hit Lincecum quite well when they faced him even though weren't able to push a run across. San Francisco had a good read on a lot of his pitches but the ball bounced Lincecum's way that night. Also, the Giants didn't have too much trouble with Mazzaro that night and he's a little over-rated at this early point in his career.
Mazzaro has been fortunate so far in that most of the lineups he's faced in his four career starts have been clubs that had injuries or had been slumping at the plate. The team that hit him the hardest, the Giants, is who he must face tonight and we feel there is excellent line value with the over here. The "quick second look" is a key factor giving the hitters a little better edge over the pitchers and we feel Lincecum won't be as fortunate as he was in the first match-up when he got out of some key jams. Consider a small play on OVER the total in Oakland Tuesday.

No passing up the Braves tonight as they will take full advantage of a struggling Wang and New York team.
Things don’t look good for the Yankees who have lost 4 of their last 5 games. Well with Chin-Ming Wang at 0-5 with an ERA of 17.18 pitching I look for New York’s struggles to continue at Turner Field tonight.
Tommy Hanson will counter for the Brave making his fourth big league start after winning his last two starts for a 2-0 record in his three starts.
The mixture of the Braves playing at home and against a sliding team in New York with the worst starting pitcher in the league I like for Atlanta to open up the series a winner.
2♦ Atlanta Braves
Jack Jones
Red Sox/Nationals UNDER 9
The Under is almost always a good play when John Lannan is pitching for the Nationals. In 14 starts this season, 11 have stayed under the total. Lannan carries a 3.38 ERA into tonight's game, but he has a 1.72 ERA in Washington this season and a 1.16 ERA over his last 3 starts. Brad Penny hasn't had as much luck with the under in his starts (6 of 12), but he has pitched well over his last three games, earning a 2.70 ERA (all three stayed under the total) and throwing in two straight games without allowing an earned run. Stick with the under in tonight's game.
