TOR / PHI Under 10

The Philadelphia Phillies had no problem with the AL East's best in the World Series last year, but their interleague performance against the toughest division in baseball hasn't been quite as impressive on their current homestand. They'll hope to avoid their fourth loss in five games when they continue a three-game set with the visiting Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday, as 46-year-old Jamie Moyer takes the mound looking to help rest the Phillies tired bullpen. The Blue Jays opened this series with an 8-3, 10-inning win Tuesday after starting their interleague slate with six straight losses. Toronto tied the game off Ryan Madson in the ninth on Lyle Overbay's bases-loaded walk and former Phillie Scott Rolen's RBI single started a five-run 10th. Moyer is 14-8 with a 5.27 ERA in 37 appearances 35 starts versus Toronto in his long career; however I expect the wily veteran to have a big game in front of the home town crowd! Blue Jays right-hander Scott Richmond has never faced the Phillies. He'll hope to get some support from a Blue Jays lineup that stranded 16 runners in the opener - the team's most since April 24, 2004 against Baltimore. However it's interesting to note that the Blue Jays have seen the total go under the posted number in 3 of 5 road games when the total is 10 to 10 1/2 while the Phillies have seen the total go under the posted number in 5 of 6 games as a home favorite of -125 to -150! I look for these strong O/U trends to continue and for the rest of the above factors play significant rolls in the outcome of tonight's game and must highly recommend a play on the UNDER!

THanks a lot! I guess my next question is: (I know this is entirely subjective) but...who are the best cappers?

Steve Budin without question is the best guy to follow. He is a spot player and doesn't release a play everyday. Maybe 1 or 2 a week. The guy is PHENOMINAL in football and pretty solid in baseball and basketball.

LENNY DEL GENIO

MLB
Tampa Bay vs. Colorado
8:40 EST

Although Rays starter David Price has yet to be extended into the sixth inning, TB has won each of his last three starts as the young phenom has allowed exactly one earned runs in each of those outings. With Colorado's 11-game win streak now a thing of the past, the Rays coincidentally now own MLB's longest active win streak at six straight games. Look for them to make it seven straight as Tampa Bay is 25-17 vs. righties this year with a healthy average of six runs per game. They also average about that same benchmark in road night games. The Rockies are just 12-18 as a favorite this year and 0 for 6 at home following a loss by four runs or more. Tampa Bay is our MLB Oddsmaker Mismatch.

STEPHEN NOVER

MLB
Pittsburgh vs. Minnesota
8:10 EST

The Metrodome could be the toughest venue for a National League team. The Twins are 12-1 there in interleague competition during the past two seasons. Last night, the Pirates played on artificial turf for the first time since 2004. Clearly they are not used to that surface.

The Pirates are the worst when it comes to interleague going 5-26 in their last 31 games the past five seasons.

The Twins should feast on right-hander Ian Snell. He's 1-7 with a 5.25 ERA this season after posting a 5.42 ERA last year. His road ERA the past two seasons is 5.94 and his away record is 4-13.

Twins starter Francisco Liriano has an ugly 5.99 ERA, which keeps this line under $2.00. But Liriano, unlike Snell, has talent and is turning the corner.

His last two starts have been solid. Liriano gave up just one run on three hits in six innings to Seattle. He followed that up by allowing three runs to Oakland on five hits in six innings, walking only two batters. Liriano struck out seven and recorded 10 ground ball outs. He has his confidence back and can control a similarly weak-hitting Pirates squad devoid of power.

The Twins also have a rested closer Joe Nathan to finish if need be. Take Minnesota.
