You have to ride the stronger pitcher tonight in this matchup. Edwin Jackson has given up just 3 runs and 11 hits in his last 22 innings and for the season he's 3-2 with a 1.55 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in seven road starts. Todd Wellemeyer has gone 0-2 in his last three starts with 15 runs and 22 hits given up in 18 innings. Even though the Cards have had stronger bats lately, they should struggle tonight against Jackson.

Wunderdog Sports
Sport: MLB Baseball
Game: Washington Nationals @ New York Yankees - Wednesday June 17, 2009 7:05 pm
Pick: 5 unit(s) TOTAL: Under 11 (-110) (Normal)

The Yankee bats have been quiet of late outside the outburst against Johan Santana and the Mets. The Yankees will start Chien Ming Wang who hasn't had success this season, but is getting his arm strength back and will be facing a team that has been completely unproductive offensively on the road. The Nationals have managed just 32 runs in their last ten road games, or 3.2 runs a game. The Yankees will face a hot pitcher in John Lannon, who has allowed just one run in his last 15 innings for a brilliant 0.67 ERA. The Nats unproductive offense has led to them playing 19 of their last 26 to the under and, on grass, 17 of their last 21 have failed to topple the total. The Yankees have played nine of their last 11 to the under in interleague play and overall their last 27 games with a total set at 11 or higher, they have played under to a 19-7-1 mark. This one is unrealistically high and I'm going with the UNDER here.

Nick Parsons

TOR / PHI Under 10

The Philadelphia Phillies had no problem with the AL East's best in the World Series last year, but their interleague performance against the toughest division in baseball hasn't been quite as impressive on their current homestand. They'll hope to avoid their fourth loss in five games when they continue a three-game set with the visiting Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday, as 46-year-old Jamie Moyer takes the mound looking to help rest the Phillies tired bullpen. The Blue Jays opened this series with an 8-3, 10-inning win Tuesday after starting their interleague slate with six straight losses. Toronto tied the game off Ryan Madson in the ninth on Lyle Overbay's bases-loaded walk and former Phillie Scott Rolen's RBI single started a five-run 10th. Moyer is 14-8 with a 5.27 ERA in 37 appearances 35 starts versus Toronto in his long career; however I expect the wily veteran to have a big game in front of the home town crowd! Blue Jays right-hander Scott Richmond has never faced the Phillies. He'll hope to get some support from a Blue Jays lineup that stranded 16 runners in the opener - the team's most since April 24, 2004 against Baltimore. However it's interesting to note that the Blue Jays have seen the total go under the posted number in 3 of 5 road games when the total is 10 to 10 1/2 while the Phillies have seen the total go under the posted number in 5 of 6 games as a home favorite of -125 to -150! I look for these strong O/U trends to continue and for the rest of the above factors play significant rolls in the outcome of tonight's game and must highly recommend a play on the UNDER!
