DAVE COKIN

Chad Gaudin appears to be following his '07 pattern now that he's healthy. The Oakland righty was a big go with pitcher well into June '07 at which point the innings began to pile up and he lost his edge. But he was dynamite early and indications in his last two starts are very positive. Boof Bonser got out of the gate quickly this season, but began regressing last outing and I see more trouble for him here. I like the A's to win this one.

Matchup: Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Selection: Arizona/Los Angeles Under 8

Explanation: We expect a low-scoring game as the Arizona Diamondbacks face-off agonist the Los Angeles Dodgers in Wednesday's MLB contest.

The Arizona Diamondbacks will use starting pitcher Dan Haren. Dan Haren has been pitching very well this season. In fact, Dan Haren has a 1.80 ERA on the season. Dan Haren also has a 0.95 ERA in his last 3 starts. It's clear this poor Los Angeles Dodgers offense will struggle to score runs off Dan Haren today.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will use starting pitcher Derek Lowe. Derek Lowe has been pitched well this season. This is shown by Derek Lowe's 2.59 ERA on the season. Derek Lowe also has a 2.45 ERA in his last 3 starts. We see Derek Lowe having another solid start tonight.

When all is said and done, we should see very few runs scored.

Take the Arizona Diamondbacks/Los Angeles Dodgers Under 8

Game: Houston Astros vs. Cincinnati Reds

Plays On: Houston/Cincinnati Over 10

Game Analyses: We see many runs being scored in Wednesday's MLB game between the Houston Astros and Cincinnati Reds.

The Houston Astros will be lead by starting pitcher Chris Sampson. Chris Sampson is having a bad season. In fact, Chris Sampson has a 8.74 ERA on the season. It's safe to say that Chris Sampson will give up many hits and runs today.

The Cincinnati Reds will be lead by starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo. Bronson Arroyo is also having a bad season. In fact, Bronson Arroyo. has a 5.48 ERA on the season. To say the least, we see Bronson Arroyo having another bad start today.

These teams have a history of scoring many runs when they meet. In fact, the Over is 17-7-3 in the last 27 meetings between these teams.

Take the Houston Astros/Cincinnati Reds Over 10

OK, so we missed pretty big with the Suns last night. That?ll happen. We?re sticking with the NBA playoffs in this spot, but switching gears going with some Eastern Conference action.

Now, our focuses are on the Hawks and Celtics, playing Game 2 in Boston.

For about a half on Sunday Atlanta looked like it would hang close enough to pick up that win ATS as 15-point dogs. The Hawks were down only 49-40 at halftime, but then fell apart in the second half and showed their inexperience.

That win over the Hawks gave Boston its fifth consecutive win SU and ATS. And over its last 13 games Boston is 12-1 SU and 11-2 ATS. Against the Hawks the Celtics are now on a 4-0 run SU and 3-1 mark ATS.

This will be another easy win for Boston. Take the Celtics at home.

3* CELTICS

Your Winning Picks

1. PITTSBURGH PIRATES (-105) OVER St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals have been playing way past their ability to start the year and a certain regression will be taking palce shortly. They are prime for the picking today after leaving it all out on the field yesterday against the Brewers, losing in extra innings in excruciating fashion. They flew out to Pittsburgh late last night and now have to contend with fireballing ace Buc's pitcher Ian Snell to boot. St. Louis goes with bullpen retread Todd Wellemeyer whose glass slipper is about to fall off and break into a thousand pieces. Go with the home team here.

2. COLORADO (-120) OVER Chicago
Rockies will be pounding out plenty of hits tonght against Cubs pitcher rich Hill who has struggled mightily so far this season. Hill gets into major trouble with giving up home runs and that is a certain recipe for disaster in the thin air of Coors Field. This is almost too easy as the bats of Colorado will win this one by the fourth inning.

Robert Ross

Atlanta Hawks at Boston Celtics

Young Hawks figure to play better after 15-point loss in their first playoff action in Game 1. Veteran point guard Bibby figures to be better as well. Everyone is talking about what a wipeout Game 1 was but the margin was 15 points just what the line is here.

Play on: Atlanta

VEGAS EXPERTS TIP OF THE DAY

Arizona Diamondbacks at Los Angeles Dodgers

Excellent value to jump on D'backs starter Dan Haren, who is 3-0 in his last three starts to go along with a 0.95 ERA. His team swept the Dodgers when the two NL West rivals met earlier this month, outscoring them 23-11 in the process. Haren has faced LA twice in his career, won both times, and has an ERA of just 1.50. Arizona has gone 13-3 vs. division opponents this season.

Play on: Arizona

NBA

Denver at LA Lakers
The Lakers have feasted on poor defensive teams (18-4 ATS in second half of the season) and look to take advantage of a Denver squad that is just 1-5 ATS over the last three seasons when trailing in a playoff series. The Lakers are the pick (-7 1/2) according to Dunkel, which has LA favored by 12.

Dunkel Pick: LA Lakers (-7 1/2).

Tom Scott

Denver at LA LAKERS

Play ON: UNDER the total points

We understand the Linemaker's adjustments in the NBA Playoffs. They are almost always in favor of the opposite result from the previous game. Teams that lost the previous game usually take fewer or lay more points in the next game. Totals are a different story. If a game goes under the posted total, the next game will have a lower O/U line and vice versa. Sometimes the Linemaker over-adjusts. The posted total in game one of this series, for example, was 224. Today, it's 229'. That's too big of an adjustment and we're going to call him on it. Paul Gasol and Carmello Anthony shot the lights out in the first game and both the Lakers and the Nuggets were embarrassed about the number of points they allowed. We're counting on the defensive pride of both teams to hold this total down.

PREDICTION: TOTAL POINTS SCORED = 218

Cards are 10-4 L 14 road games and 40-16 L 56 meetings with the Bucs. Managers edge here, pitching matchup even, Cards at home, better offensive lineup, short price here, St. Louis for 3 units
