For Wednesday take the rolling Rockies at home.
David Price is ridiculously talented and very well may possibly have a Hall of Fame career when all is said and done. The lefty came into the playoffs last season with no experience and dazzled leading the Rays to the World Series. But Colorado is on absolute fire right now, save yesterday, with that recent winning streak and I just do not see Price lasting too long today in his Coors Field debut.
No this ballpark is no longer as crazy as it was earlier on, pre humidor, but it is still obviously a total hitters' park and can chew up any hurler and spit them out. Price has had some control issues walking a lot of batters and that could definitely come back and kill him here as we all know that runners on base in this ballpark equals mucho runs.
Aaron Cook has been great of late including just outdueling Yovanni Gallardo in that last effort and upsetting the Brewers who were a $2 home chalk. The Colorado righthander is very solid when he is on with that quality sinker and right now he is flat out on.
I like this Tampa Bay team and think they will make some noise when all is said and done. Longoria, Pena, Crawford, Upton and others are really good ballplayers and form a more talented team when compared to the Rockies. But right now in this spot with Price pitching in the rarified air for the first time I will back the home Rox and expect them to continue to roll!

Afternoon action I like the Angels to sweep the Giants on the bay.
Los Angeles has now won 5 in a row with number 6 looking very possible thanks the an offense that has scored 17 runs in the past two games and the pitching of Palmer who is a perfect 6-0 record on the year with an improving ERA of 3.54 over his last three games. Even better it’s Los Angeles who has dominated interleague play by posting a MLB best 7-1 record thus far.
San Francisco, meanwhile, despite going with Lincecum it’s their offense that scored only 1 run last night that has me doubting their chances to avoid the seep.
Take Los Angeles for the 3 game sweep.

We come through once again as the Mets take care of business and give us a solid Comp Play winner. We’re on a 3-1 run and we’re making it 4-1 after the Diamondbacks come through over the Royals tonight.
Despite last night’s loss, the Diamondbacks will get a solid win over a struggling Zack Greinke. After starting on fire this season, Greinke has gone into the tank. The Royals only have 2 wins in his last 7 starts and have lost each of his last 3 starts as he’s allowed 11 earned runs in 19 1/3 innings of work.
Opposite Greinke will be Arizona’s Max Scherzer. Over Scherzer’s last 7 starts the Diamondbacks are 5-2 and have won 2 of his last 3 road starts.
Keep in mind, too, that Kansas City has won only 4 of its last 15 games when installed as a favorite. Tonight, the Royals will drop another one as the Diamondbacks get over tonight.

Tonight's free play winner is on the Yankees/Nationals game to go OVER the total. The bottom line here is that I just don't trust Chein-Ming Wang to get out of the fourth inning, and by the time Joe Girardi gets him out of the game, the Nats will likely have 6 or 7 runs themselves. Yankee Stadium has been known for high-scoring games this year, and is currently the best launching pad for home runs of any stadium in Major League Baseball. CC Sabathia pitched a gem last night but still allowed 3 ERs on one swing of the bat. You can't convince me Wang is going to keep the Nationals to just three runs today... it just won't happen. And it's not like I'm expecting John Lannan to really be able to shut down the Yankees offense today either. The lefty is going to see Teixeira turn around and bat righty, A-Rod, possibly Jeter, Melky, etc. and the list goes on and one. This offense is loaded with talent and should also be able to score six or seven themselves. This game is OVER the total by the 6th or 7th inning, and you can watch the rest of the game in peace.

Chicago White Sox at Chicago Cubs
Pick: Chicago White Sox +1.5
While these teams were both in first place a year ago when they met for the first time in interleague play, both have struggled to meet those expectations this season. The Cubs had the top offense a year ago in the NL, but this season they are close to the bottom. Ryan Dempster has not been the same pitcher as he was a year ago and, even when he was pitching great last season, the White Sox had his number. Dempster made two starts against the Pale Hose resulting in a 7.84 ERA. John Danks came out of a prolonged slump and allowed just a single run in his last start. Danks allowed just a single run in his only start vs the Cubs a year ago. With both offenses struggling and the matchup here favors the White Sox, I'll go with them on the runline.

Arizona Diamondbacks @ Kansas City Royals
PICK: Under 7.5
Zack Greinke of the Royals has quite the reputation so far this season and deservedly so! In his first ten starts this season he allowed a total of just seven earned runs. Now, we realize that recently the Royals right-hander has allowed 11 earned runs in his last three starts but, keep in mind, two of those starts saw him allow just 14 hits in 14.1 innings of work. The fact is that Greinke is still throwing very, very well and Wednesday he will be facing an Arizona lineup that has compiled a .221 batting average on the road this season. That's good enough for worst in the majors. The good news for Diamondbacks fans is that their 3.33 ERA on the road is good enough for the top spot in the majors and Max Scherzer should not disappoint on Wednesday night!
The Arizona right-hander is just 1-2 in his six road starts this season but note the stellar numbers he's put together away from home. On the road this season Scherzer has a 1.59 ERA and a .205 BAA. Scherzer is a tough pitcher to face for the first time as evidenced by his 36 strikeouts in his last 29.1 innings on the mound. The Diamondbacks hurler has not given up an earned run this month and he's also not allowed an earned run in four of his last nine starts! He's capable of dominating a Royals lineup that is 13th (out of 14 teams) in the American League with just 261 runs scored this season! As long as we can keep the scattered thunderstorms away this evening, this should be an easy under! Consider a small play on UNDER the total in Kansas City on Wednesday evening.
