With the matchup set, who will win this year’s Finals MVP Award?
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.COM have made the Lakers’ Kobe Bryant a 1/3 favorite to claim the MVP award in this year’s NBA Finals. Orlando’s Dwight Howard is 3/1, while Pau Gasol is 8/1 and Rashard Lewis is 12/1.
When looking at the stats, it’s easy to see why Bryant would be the odds on favorite to claim this year’s Finals MVP. He’s averaging 29.6 points per game so far in the postseason and shooting 47% from the field. He’s also averaging close to five assists per game, which is second to only Hedo Turkoglu of the Magic of the players competing in this series.
Howard has been a beast himself, leading all postseason players in rebounds with 15.4 per game and averaging 21.7 points per game. If Orlando wins the series, it’s a safe bet that Howard’s play will be the reason they did, which would make him Finals MVP.
Bryant’s wingman is Gasol, who is 8/1 to win, while Howard’s is Lewis, who is 12/1 to win. Along with those two players, Turkoglu at 15/1 offer some of the best value when betting this year’s MVP Award.
