2010 NBA Finals Updated Odds To Win – Cavaliers Favored By Oddsmakers

The 2010 NBA Playoffs are set to begin on Saturday and with the field set the updated odds are out for which team will win the 2010 NBA Finals.

The defending champion, L.A. Lakers are the favored team out of the Western Conference but the Cleveland Cavaliers are favored to win the NBA Championship.

Oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction have given Cleveland 8/5 odds to win the NBA Finals. Other short odds to win are Los Angeles (7/4), Orlando (6/1), and Dallas (10/1).

The Cavaliers have appeared in one NBA Finals and won one conference title in franchise history. Cleveland finished the regular season 61-21, which is the most wins of any team in the league. Cleveland was 35-6 at home and 26-15 on the road. They lost their last four games of the season, but rested most starters during that period. Cleveland shoots 48.5 percent as a team, which is the highest percentage of any Eastern Conference squad. They also lead the East in 3-point shooting at 38.1 percent.

Los Angeles is the defending NBA champion and the Lakers have won 15 NBA titles and 30 conference titles in franchise history. The Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference at 57-25. They were 34-7 at home and 23-18 on the road. L.A. won four of its last 10 to end the season, but they also rested starters down the stretch. The Lakers are the top rebounding team in the West, averaging 44.3 rebounds per-game.

Orlando is the defending Eastern Conference champion. It was their second conference title in franchise history. The Magic have yet to win a NBA title. Orlando was 59-23 this season with a 34-7 home record and a 25-16 road record. They are the No. 2 seed in the East. The Magic have won their last six and nine of their last 10 heading into the playoffs. Orlando is the top defense in the league in terms of opponent’s field goal percentage, as they hold their opponents to 43.9 percent shooting.

Dallas has won one conference title in franchise history and never won the NBA title. The Mavericks were 55-27 this season to earn the second seed in the West. They were 28-13 at home and 27-14 on the road. The Mavericks won more road games than any team in the NBA. The Mavericks won their last five games to end the season.
