2010 NBA Free Agency Prop Odds – Where will LeBron James Sign?

The big question in the NBA World right now is where will LeBron James play basketball next season?

With free agency ready to begin on July 1, the odds are out as to where James will sign to play in the 2010-11 season.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have given Chicago 1/3 odds to sign LeBron. Other odds are Miami (2/1), Cleveland (3/1), New Jersey (6/1), New York (6/1), and the L.A. Clippers (20/1).

As early as Monday morning, James had 1/10 odds of joining the Bulls, but those odds have increased after a radio report from Stephen A. Smith on Monday that said James, Chris Bosh, and Dwayne Wade will all be playing in Miami next season. Smith made the claim, citing unnamed sources on 790AM the Ticket.

Miami has the ability to sign all three without taking a cap hit as Wade re-signing with the team for a max contract leaves more money open for the other two. A re-signing doesn’t have the same affect that a new addition would have on the salary cap.

Chicago has the ability to also sign three max players as the Bulls traded Kirk Hinrich during the NBA Draft last week. The Bulls have expressed interest in trying to sign James, Bosh, and one other player like Wade or Joe Johnson.

Cleveland is among the favorites as well as they can offer James more money than any other team due to the NBA salary rules. The Cavaliers currently don’t have a coach and their salary cap situation is not as ideal as Miami or Chicago. With some roster moves they may be able to bring in another max contract.
