2010 NBA Picks and Predictions for Tuesday, October 26
By Drew Sharper
The Big Three of the Miami Heat make their regular season debut as they take on the defending Eastern Conference Champions, the Boston Celtics in the season opener.
The Heat comes into Tuesday night’s game as a 1.5-point favorite on the road against the Celtics.
Miami added LeBron James and Chris Bosh to the roster with Dwayne Wade and the Celtics have added Shaquille O’Neal to bolster their depth.
Here are some trends to consider and my pick for tonight’s season opener.
Miami Heat at Boston Celtics, 7:30PM ET
Trends favor Boston in this game as the Celtics are 4-1 against the spread in their last five vs. Miami and the home team is also 4-1 ATS in the last five games of this season.
Boston is also 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 games as a home underdog and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games.
It is hard to think too much about trends in this game as Miami is a very new team, but Boston has a chip on its shoulder and the underdog at home while Miami has proven nothing on the court as of yet. I like the Celtics to come out motivated and win straight up.
