The field is set for the 2010 Final Four and the odds are out for which team will take home the NCAA Championship.
With only one No. 1 seed in the field, Duke has emerged as the favorite to win the championship.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made Duke a 5/4 favorite to win the 2010 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Other odds to win are West Virginia (21/10), Butler (4/1), and Michigan State (17/4).
Duke is seeking its first NCAA title since 2001. The Blue Devils are in their first Final Four since 2004. It is Duke’s 15th Final Four appearance. Duke has won its last eight games to get to this point, and the Blue Devils will face West Virginia in the national semifinal on Saturday.
The Mountaineers are looking to win their first national championship. It is WVU’s second Final Four appearance in school history and first since 1959. WVU has won its last 10 games of the season, including the impressive 73-66 win over Kentucky to get to the Final Four. The Mountaineers will face Duke in the semifinal.
Butler is the surprise team in the Final Four. The Bulldogs are making their first Final Four appearance in school history, seeking their first ever national championship. Butler has won 24 straight games entering the Final Four, including a 63-59 win over Syracuse in the regional semifinal. The Bulldogs will face Michigan State in the national semifinal.
Michigan State is making its sixth Final Four appearance since 1999 under head coach Tom Izzo. The Spartans are looking to win their first national title since 2000. Michigan State has won seven of its last eight including a buzzer beater win over Maryland and a 1-point win over Tennessee. Michigan State is dealing with a variety of injuries, which is why oddsmakers have them least favored to win.
