2011 March Madness Updated Odds To Win – Ohio State Favored

(TheSpread) – The field has been set for the 2011 NCAA Tournament and here is a look at the odds to emerge from March Madness as the national champion.
The 68-team tournament begins on Tuesday with the First Four, but it is the No. 1 overall seed that is favored to take the title
Ohio State enters the tournament as the favorite according to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Bodog.com as the Buckeyes have 7/2 odds to win. The other short odds are the other three No. 1 seeds. They are Duke (9/2), Kansas (5/1), and Pittsburgh (8/1).
The Buckeyes have the top seed in the East bracket as they won both the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles this season. Ohio State is 31-2 on the year but the Buckeyes haven’t won the national title since 1960.
Duke is the top seed out of the West bracket and the defending national champions. The Blue Devils won the ACC tournament title and are 30-4 on the year. Duke has won this tournament four times.
In the Southwest bracket, Kansas is the No. 1 seed. The Jayhawks won the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles and are 32-2 on the year. Kansas has won this tournament three times, the last coming in 2008.
Pittsburgh is the top seed out of the Southeast bracket. The Panthers won the Big East regular season title and is 27-5 on the year. The Big East landed 11 bids in this year’s tournament. The Panthers have never won the NCAA Tournament.
