2011 Men’s College Basketball Championship Odds To Win: Duke Favored

With the 2010-11 NCAA Men’s Basketball Season set to tip off this week, here is a look at the updated odds to win the national championship.
Bet the 2011 Men’s College Basketball Championship
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made Duke the favorite to win the national title once again as the Blue Devils have 5/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Purdue (13/2), Kentucky (8/1), and Michigan State (10/1).
Duke is the defending national champion, which was their fourth national title since 1991. Duke is currently ranked No. 1 in the country and they return key players Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith from last year’s title team. Both averaged over 17 points per-game last season.
Purdue hasn’t won a national title since 1932. The Boilermakers reached the Sweet Sixteen last season but once again will be without key player Robbie Hummel who injured his knee that he hurt last season. Senior guard E-Twaun Moore will look to lead the team as the senior averaged over 16 points per game.
Kentucky hasn’t won the national title since 1998 and hasn’t reached a Final Four since 1998 either. The Wildcats lost a load of talent from last year’s team and will have to be successful with a young team again, which features just one senior in Josh Harrellson.
Michigan State is coming off its sixth Final Four showing since 1999 and the Spartans haven’t won a national title since 2000. The Spartans bring back almost everyone from last year’s roster, led by senior guard Kalin Lucas, who was averaged just under 15 points per game.
