By ATSSportsline.com

EAST LANSING, MI (ATS Consultants) – No. 18 Michigan State is a huge favorite over Big Ten rival Nebraska tonight at 6:00PM ET but will the Huskers surprise by covering?

ODDS: Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv have installed Michigan State as an 18.5-point favorite versus Nebraska, which is 9-7 overall this season and 1-4 on the road. The Spartans, meanwhile, are 13-3 overall and a perfect 10-0 at home.

LINE MOVEMENT: The Spartans opened as 18.5-point favorites and that's where the line currently sits at most books. As for the total, it opened at 120 but it's been bet down to 119.5 at most sports books.

PUBLIC BETTING: Of the wagers placed on tonight’s game, 58% of college basketball public bettors currently favor the Huskers. This information is subject to change, however, so make sure you click on the link provided for the most up-to-date public betting numbers.

NCAA FREE PICK: Take Nebraska. According to latest college basketball trends, Spartans are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win. Nebraska (9-7 SU, 7-7 ATS, 2-6 O/U) at #18 Michigan State (13-3 SU, 5-8 ATS, 5-7 O/U)
Last year: (2/25/12) MICHIGAN STATE (-17.5) over Nebraska, 62-34. Nebraska has a tough task when they visit Michigan State. They have to face a physical Michigan State team led by Derrick Nix (6-9, 270) and Adreian Payne (6-10, 240). The Cornhuskers will counter with 6-11 center Andre Almeida. The good news is tha they have a solid guard combo of Ray Gallegos and Dylan Talley that can keep them competitive. Talley and Gallegos both average 13.4ppg. Nebraska doesn't have to win this game. They have lost three straight but they covered their last two including a 62-47 loss at Michigan getting 21 and a 47-41 loss at home to Wisconsin getting 9. Michigan State wins with defense, but their offense is producing just 43.7 percent shooting from the field in their last four games. Nebraska will force them to shoot from the perimeter and this will be a close game that the Spartans should close out late but won't cover.
