-Emeka Okafor, Bobcats, had 25 points and 23 rebounds in a 96-87 win over the Indiana Pacers.
-Kobe Bryant, Lakers, had 30 points and seven assists in a 107-93 win over the Timberwolves on Friday night.

COUNTRYMEN CLASH
Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian each had their share of highlights in the much-anticipated first matchup of China's greatest player and its top rising star, and Yao's Houston Rockets beat Yi's Milwaukee Bucks 104-88 on Friday night. Yao had 28 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Yi had 19 points and nine rebounds. The game was an enormous event in China, where it started early Saturday morning. It was being broadcast on 19 television networks and NBA officials were expecting the largest-ever viewing audience for a game, more than 200 million.
SUPERLATIVE
Steve Nash scored 11 straight points in the fourth quarter and finished with 30 to go with eight assists, and the Phoenix Suns rallied past the Heat 106-101 Friday night. Nash finished 6-for-7 from 3-point range.
FAST START
Kevin Garnett had 27 points and 19 rebounds, Paul Pierce scored 23 and the Boston Celtics beat the Atlanta Hawks 106-83 Friday night, their third blowout win of a season in which they're off to their best start in 20 years. Their 4-0 record is their best opening since 1987-88 when they won their first six games, finished with 52 wins and went on to the Eastern Conference finals, the last time the trio of Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Robert Parish got there.
CRUNCH TIME
LeBron James rallied the Cavaliers with eight points in the final 2:57, and the Cavaliers hung on for a 93-91 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Friday night. Devin Brown had 20 points and a career-high 11 rebounds for the Cavaliers, who treaded dangerously close to a surprising upset loss until James scored eight of their final 10 points in the fourth stop of Cleveland's six-game road trip.

Shawn Marion grabbed 24 rebounds for Phoenix in a 106-101 win over the Miami Heat on Friday night. ... Emeka Okafor had 23 rebounds with 25 points in Charlotte's 96-87 win over the Indiana Pacers. ... Orlando's Dwight Howard had 22 points and 20 rebounds in a 112-102 win over the Knicks.
STRONG IN DEFEAT

Nash went on a personal 11-0 run late in the fourth quarter, single-handedly carrying the Suns to a 106-101 win over the Heat on Friday night. Marquette G Scott Christopherson out with knee surgery

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Marquette freshman guard Scott Christopherson had right knee surgery on Saturday and is indefinitely out.
Christopherson underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair a preexisting injury to his meniscus. The Golden Eagles believe the 6-3 Christopherson will play this season.
"We are shocked that he has been able to practice at the level he has," head coach Tom Crean said in a statement. "We felt surgery at this time was the best option for Scott, not only for this season, but his long-term future as well."
Christopherson becomes the second player in Crean's three-member freshman class to miss significant time after forward Trevor Mbakwe decided earlier this season to redshirt with a lingering ligament sprain in his left knee.
