NBA Celtics vs. Nuggets Picks & Predictions for Tuesday, February 19, 2013
By ATSSportsline.com

DENVER, CO (ATS Consultants) – The NBA kicks off its second half with a full slate of games tonight, including the Celtics and Nuggets, who tip off at 9:00PM ET.

ODDS: Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv have installed the Nuggets as 8.5-point favorites versus the Celtics, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 203 points. Boston is 28-24 overall and 8-15 on the road, while Denver is 33-21 overall and 22-3 at home.

LINE MOVEMENT: The Nuggets opened as 7-point favorites but the spread has been bet up to 8.5 points at most sports books. The total, meanwhile, opened at 205 but has been bet down to 203.5 or 202.5 depending on what book you view.

PUBLIC BETTING: Of the current wagers placed on tonight’s game, 67% of NBA public bettors currently favor the Celtics. This information is subject to change, however, so make sure you click on the link provided to get the most updated public betting numbers.

NBA FREE PICK: Take Boston. According to latest NBA trends, Boston is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. Western Conference, 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. NBA Northwest, 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win, 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games after scoring less than 75 points in their previous game. Denver is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 vs. NBA Atlantic.

The Celtics are still in the playoff picture, despite losing Rajon Rondo (ACL) and Leandro Barbosa (ACL) for the year. They have won eight of the last nine games after a six-day break. Since Kevin Garnett waived his no-trade clause, he'll be with the Celtics on Tuesday and perhaps for the rest of the season with the trade deadline ending on Thursday. On Feb. 10, Paul Pierce recorded a triple-double with 27 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists in the Celtics' triple overtime win. Boston has a deep bench and that has helped ease the pain of the injuries. Forward Jeff Green has stepped up his play, averaging 13.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists in the last nine games. Garnett played just six minutes in the All-Star game on Sunday. Boston will try and slow this down and use their experience and guile in covering this game.
