They are coming off a 63-61 win over Auburn on the road as a 7-point favorite. Kentucky has won three of four but held on to defeat LSU, 75-70, giving 15.5. Kentucky travels to C.M. 'Tad' Smith Coliseum in Oxford, MS at 9pmET.

Preview:

So Kentucky is a rare road dog against Ole Miss, a team that usually gives them trouble. But this year, the Rebels are a legit basketball team that is 6-0 in the SEC but beat Missouri for their lone quality win, but the Tigers were playing without star F Laurence Bowers (knee).

The Rebels are led by guard Marshall Henderson, who averages 19.2 points per game, but shoots just 39% from the field. The key will be handling Kentucky's big front line led by 6-10 Nerlens Noel. Murphy Holloway (6-7, 240) adds toughness and 14.8 points per game and 10.4 rebounds per game. Reginald Buckner (6-9, 235) gives them some length with 9.9 points per game, 7.9 rebounds per game and 53 blocks in 19 games.

Ole Miss averages 80.3 points per game, which ranks fifth in the nation. They allow teams to shoot just 27.4% from the three-point line and 38.6% overall.

Kentucky has an extremely talented team but they are also very young. The Wildcats shoot 49% from the field and 36% from beyond the arc. The hold teams to just 38.3% from the field and 31% from beyond the arc.

Archie Goodwin leads the team with a 14.6 points per game average. They are very balanced with five players averaging in double figures. One of them is the freshman Noel (6-10, 228), who averages 10.6ppg and 9.4rpg, while blocking 82 shots in 19 games.

Wisconsin Badgers vs. No. 14 Ohio State Buckeyes

The Badgers snapped a two-game skid this past Saturday with a 45-44 victory over Minnesota as 3 ½-point home favorites. They are now 14-6 SU this season and 6-12 ATS. The total stayed UNDER the 125-point line in that game and it has now stayed UNDER in six of their last seven contests. Jared Berggren leads the team in scoring with 12 points a game and Ryan Evans is adding 10.9 points and a team-high 7.8 rebounds a game. The team as a whole is shooting 43.5 percent from the floor.

Ohio State posted a pair of wins last week against Iowa and Penn State to improve to 15-4 SU and 5-2 in Big Ten play. It has covered the spread in five of its last eight games and is now 10-6-1 ATS overall. The Buckeyes are 11-1 SU (6-4 ATS) at home this season and the total has stayed UNDER in seven of their last eight games. Deshaun Thomas continues to put up some impressive totals with an average of 20 points and 6.5 rebounds a game. He is shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from three-point range.

Tuesday's Top 25 NCB Betting Notes
By Covers.com

Check out our quick-hitting betting notes on all of Tuesday’s ranked college basketball games:

Wisconsin at (11) Ohio State (-6)

The Badgers started 4-0 in conference play and then lost back-to-back games before edging Minnesota 45-44 on Saturday. Tough defense is a Wisconsin program staple and the Badgers have held consecutive opponents under 50 points for the first time since the 2009-10 campaign. Wisconsin held Michigan State to a season-low 49 points and then limited Minnesota to its season-worst output. The Buckeyes have won back-to-back outings and are 11-1 at home. The Badgers are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games.

(19) N.C. State at Virginia (-2)

In its win over North Carolina last weekend, North Carolina State often found little resistance and seemingly scored at will. Points figure to be a bit more at a premium when the high-flying Wolfpack hit the road in an attempt to solve one of the nation’s top defenses in Virginia. North Carolina State – the sixth-highest scoring team in the country – will likely be forced to play a much slower pace against the Cavaliers, who own the nation’s second-best scoring defense and are 12-1 at home this season. Virginia has held 16 opponents – including all six ACC foes – to less than 60 points and allowed no more than 64 points in any game. The Wolfpack are 1-6 ATS in their last seven meetings.

Indiana State at (14) Wichita State (-12.5)

Wichita State is 12-0 at home this season with nine of the victories coming by double digits. The Shockers suffered a blow when sophomore guard Evan Wessel recently underwent season-ending hand surgery. Freshman guard Ron Baker (foot) is also sidelined but the Shockers recently got back senior forward Carl Hall from a thumb injury that sidelined him seven games. The Sycamores have won three of four games, including a 59-58 victory over Northern Iowa on Saturday when Jake Odum hit two free throws with 0.3 seconds remaining. Indiana State is 6-1 ATS in its last seven road games.

Kentucky at (16) Mississippi (-1.5)

Mississippi will put the SEC’s longest current winning streak on the line when the Rebels host Kentucky. Ole Miss is 6-0 in conference play for the first time in school history with nine straight wins overall. The Rebels enter the week as the nation’s fifth-highest scoring team (80.3) but are a combined 23-for-50 from the free-throw line in the last two games. Kentucky has a pair of 6-10 forwards in Kyle Wiltjer and Nerlens Noel, but will likely be without 7-foot freshman Willie Cauley-Stein, who missed the last three games with a knee injury. Noel has been playing especially well lately, earning SEC Freshman of the Week honors the last two weeks. The Wildcats are 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall.

Nebraska at (24) Minnesota (-20)

After a 15-1 start made the Golden Gophers a trendy pick to contend for the Big Ten title, a four-game losing streak has put Minnesota below .500 in the conference. Coach Tubby Smith was thought to have assembled one of the conference's premier offenses, but consecutive 48- and 44-point performances make that seem like a distant era. The Cornhuskers have won two of their last three Big Ten contests. But playing ranked opponents on the road has been unkind to Nebraska as its lost to Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State away from home - all by double digits. Nebraska is 4-1 ATS in its last five games versus a team with a winning record.

NC State at Virginia

NC State Wolfpack (16-4, 10-8 ATS) defeating UNC 91-83 at home last time out snapping a thirteen-game slide against Tar Heels take the show on the road for a battle against ACC rival Virginia Cavaliers (14-5, 11-4-1 ATS). Wolfpack with five double digit scorers paced by C.J. Leslie (15.4) and one of the nation’s most potent offenses netting 79.8 PPG on a whopping 50.9% shooting will be tested. The Cavaliers own the nation's second-best scoring defense giving up 51.1 points/game while holding opponents to just 36.8% shooting. Virginia which hasn't allowed an ACC rival to score more than 60 points this season have opened 3.5 point favorites. Consider laying the small number. The Cavaliers are ridding a 12-1 (9-2-1 ATS) streak on home court and have a 5-2 (6-1 ATS) stretch going vs NC State. If that were not enough, consider Wolfpack are 1-3-1 ATS last five away from Raleigh, 1-3 ATS this season held under 70 points/game.

College Basketball Points Spreads and Picks
By: The Linemakers
Sportingnews.com

The margin of error will remain slim for low-scoring Wisconsin tonight when they travel to Ohio State to take on the more-talented Buckeyes.

Wisconsin is struggling to score from the field and the foul line, averaging 52.6 points in their last three games. They rank 333rd out of 345 teams in free-throw percentage (60.8 percent).

In contrast, the Buckeyes are averaging 72.9 points and have scored fewer than 60 just twice this season.

Ohio State enters tonight’s game having won four of five, with a big win over Michigan and the only loss during that stretch coming at Michigan State. Big Ten leading scorer Deshaun Thomas averaged 19.5 points in two games against Wisconsin last season.

The Badgers bounced back from a two-game slide by nipping Minnesota at the buzzer at home. Wisconsin leading scorer Jared Berggren (12.0 ppg) is shooting 7.1 percent from 3-point range over his last four games (1-for-14).

Wisconsin and Ohio State split last season’s meetings, with each team winning on the other’s court.

The Buckeyes are playing the revenge card and have publicly acknowledged their displeasure with Wisconsin’s win last year on Senior Day in Columbus.

Wisconsin sophomore center Frank Kaminsky (eye) is a game-time decision, according to the Columbus Times Dispatch. He’s not a significant addition to the Badgers if he plays.

The Line: The Buckeyes opened as 6.5-point favorites at the Las Vegas Wynn late Monday night. It moved up to -7 at William Hill early Tuesday, but Wisconsin money has pushed it down to 6 at most books by about 10:15 a.m. PT.

The total sits at 120 or 120.5. Last season’s two meetings averaged 116.5 points.

Trends

Ohio State is 17-5 against the spread in its last 22 home games.

The Badgers are 2-5 against the spread in conference play this season.

The favorite has covered the spread in five of last six meetings in this series.

The Linemakers’ lean: It doesn’t matter who they play, Wisconsin is able to control the tempo. And until the Badgers improve at the foul line or from the outside, we’ll lean to the UNDER. Nine of Ohio State’s last 10 games have stayed under the total, and six of Wisconsin’s last seven also have stayed under. Eight of the last 11 meetings between Ohio State coach Thad Matta and Wisconsin’s Bo Ryan also have stayed under the total.

Kentucky vs. No 16 Ole Miss – 9:00 p.m. ET

Line: Mississippi -3, Total: 145

Trends:

• Under is 7-3-1 in the last 11 meetings.

• Wildcats are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings.

• Underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings.

• Rebels are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall.

• Rebels are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 vs. SEC.

• Rebels are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games.

The Linemakers' lean: Mississippi is leading the SEC at a so-far undefeated 6-0 in the conference, and what'’s probably Andy Kennedy’'s best team to date is fifth in the nation in scoring (80 ppg). Kentucky should be game to run with the Rebels, but we’re not sure that'‘s a good thing on the Ole Miss home floor, one of the toughest places to play in the county. This has not been a typical year for John Calipari, who’se squad is 2-4 ATS on the road. No one would have thought before the season that Ole Miss would be laying points in this spot, but we still think there’'s value with the home favorite Tuesday night.

N.C. State (16-4, 10-8 ATS) at Virginia (14-5, 11-4-1 ATS) 7 p.m. ET, ESPN 2

Line: Virginia -4.5, Total: 126

The Linemakers’ take: NC State is the sixth highest scoring team in the country and Virginia is the second best scoring defense so something has to give here. Virginia is 12-1 at home and has not allowed anyone to score more than 64 points all season. NC State is just 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings but this is a much more talented team than recent editions. We are going against the grain and taking the Wolfpack and the points in this one.

Trends:

• Wolfpack are 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings in Virginia.

• Road team is 11-3 ATS in the last 14 meetings.

• Wolfpack are 1-6 ATS in the last 7 meetings.

• Cavaliers are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 home games.

• Over is 4-1 in Cavaliers' last 5 home games.

Indiana State vs. No. 15 Wichita State – 8:00 p.m. ET

Line: Wichita St -12, Total: 126

Trends:

• Sycamores are 5-1-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Wichita State.

• Over is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings.

• Over is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Wichita State.

• Road team is 9-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings.

Nebraska vs. No. 23 Minnesota – 9:00 p.m. ET, Big Ten Network

Line: Minnesota -19, Total: 122.5

Trends:

• Road team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings.

• Underdog is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings.

• Cornhuskers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

• Cornhuskers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. Big Ten.

• Cornhuskers are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games.

• Golden Gophers are 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 games overall.
