Monday’s college hoop
Cleveland State lost its last four games, is 2-10; they lost to Michigan State by 50 in last game. Vikings’ last D-I win was Nov 29. Youngstown lost its last nine games; they’re 0-11 vs D-I teams, with two non-D-I wins. Youngstown is 3-2 in its last five games with Cleveland State; they beat CSU in Horizon tourney LY. Penguins lost four of last five visits to Cleveland, with losses by 6-1-13-14 points. Horizon home favorites are 4-4 vs spread. Last six years, CSU is 18-14-1 as a Horizon home favorite; last two yeas, Youngstown is 7-10 as road underdogs.

Siena won its last four games with Quinnipiac; favorites covered five of last six series games. Bobcats lost last three visits to Albany, by 18-15-7 points. Bobcats are 4-9 but won MAAC opener by hoop over Monmouth Thursday. Siena lost its MAAC opener by 5 at Marist Friday; Saints are turning ball over 21.8% of time; they’re 1-7 in true road games, with win at Bryant. MAAC underdogs are 4-2-2 vs spread in conference games so far this season. Last four years; Quinnipiac is 15-13-1 as MAAC road underdogs; under Patsos, Siena is 16-14-1 as home faves.

West Virginia won its last 12 games since opening loss to Texas A&M in Germany; WVU forced 21 turnovers (+3) in 85-79 win at Okla State in its Big X opener. Mountaineers won six of last seven games with Kansas State; they’re 2-3 in Little Apple, with wins by 6-4 points. K-State was 13-26 on arc in 91-75 win at Iowa State Friday; Wildcats split their four top 100 games. Last 4+ years, West Virginia is 11-5 as Big X road favorites; K-State covered eight of last nine games as home underdogs. Big X home teams are 1-4 vs spread so far this season.

Texas won five of last seven games, but lost Big X home opener by 6 to Kansas; four Longhorn starters played 34:00+. Texas is 3-4 vs top 100 teams, with all four losses by 7 or less. Iowa State had won nine in row before losing Big X opener 91-75 to K-State; Cyclones are 2-2 vs top 100 teams. ISU won six of last eight games with Texas; Longhorns lost their last six games in Hilton Coliseum. Big X home teams are 1-4 vs spread so far this season. Texas is 10-7-1 vs spread on Big X road under Smart, 1-1 as favorites; last five years, Iowa State is 0-3 as home underdogs.
