The Blue Devils are 22-3 overall and 9-3 versus the ACC, while the Hokies are 11-14 overall and 2-10 in conference play.

LINE MOVEMENT: The Blue Devils opened as 13.5-point favorites but the spread has dropped to 13 or 12.5-points at most online sports books. The total opened at 147.5 but has been bet down to 146.5 at most sports books.

NCAA FREE PICK: Take Virginia Tech. According to latest college basketball trends, Duke is 5-12 ATS in their last 17 vs. Atlantic Coast and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games. Virginia Tech is 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win, 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 Thursday games and is 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a SU loss. Duke (22-3 SU, 13-12) has a few days to recover from a tough loss at Maryland last Saturday, 83-81, giving 4. They fell to sixth in the nation from first in most polls. Virginia Tech (11-14 SU, 10-10-2 ATS) are coming off a tough, 90-86 loss in overtime to North Carolina State on Saturday, getting 14. That was one of best-played games for the Hokies, who are struggling at just 2-10 in the ACC this year. But Duke is no great shakes on the road, going 3-3 thus far. Duke was fortunate to lose by just two on Saturday as they were outrebounded 40-20.Virginia Tech had a great performance from freshman forward Marshall Wood, who had 14 points and 16 rebounds against North Carolina State. He only averages 4.7 points and 4.3 rebounds so that was a career performance and may jump-start his season. Senior guard Erick Green leads the nation with a 25.3 scoring average and had 29 points and eight assists against the Wolfpack game. Junior forward Jarell Eddie averages 13 points and is normally the second option for the Hokies. Expect the Hokies to give it their all at home in front of a raucous crowd and cover the game.
