2013 College Basketball Florida State vs. North Carolina Picks & Predictions
By ATSSportsline.com

GREENSBORO, NC (ATS Consultants) – Florida State and North Carolina will square off in the ACC tournament quarterfinals tonight at 9:00PM ET. Will the Tar Heels roll?

ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed North Carolina as an 8-point favorite over Florida State for tonight’s game, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 141 points. The Seminoles are 18-14 overall while the Tar Heels are 22-9 on the year.

LINE MOVEMENT: The Tar Heels opened as 8-point favorites versus the Seminoles, and that’s where the current line sits at most sports books. The total opened at 142 and has dropped to 141 at most books.

PUBLIC BETTING: Of the wagers placed on tonight’s game, 69% of college basketball public bettors currently favor the Tar Heels. This information is subject to change, however, so make sure you click on the link provided for the most up-to-date public betting numbers.

NCAA FREE PICK: Take North Carolina. According to latest college basketball trends, Florida State is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Friday games, 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win. North Carolina is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS loss, 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall, 6-1 ATS in their last 7 Friday games and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.

Florida State (18-14 SU, 13-16-1 ATS) has underachieved most of the season, but they have won three straight as they defeated Clemson in the first round of the ACC Tournament, 73-69 giving 2 on Thursday. North Carolina has won six of the last seven, but their last game was played last Saturday. They fell hard to Duke at home, 69-53, as a 2-point betting odds favorite. The Tar Heels were embarrassed last Saturday at home against Duke. It was reality-check time for Roy Williams and his young team that had won six straight. They did rout Florida State just two weeks ago on March 3, by 21 at home. North Carolina is a bad matchup for Florida State because they have quality guards and a team that loves to run. Junior forward Reggie Bullock has really stepped up in their last five games, shooting 60 percent, while averaging 16.2 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore forward James Michael McAdoo (6-9, 230) leads the Tar Heels with 14.6 points and 7.6 rebounds. He's a difficult cover because he can shoot the ball from the perimeter, put the ball on the floor and drive or pots up. Sophomore P.J. Hairston is a very good three-point shoots, who adds 13.6 points per game and has made at least one three-pointer in 28 straight games. North Carolina is the third seed with rest while Florida State had a tough time with Clemson. They played six player 29 minutes or more and their lack of depth will catch up with them against the Tar Heels, who will try and run them off the floor.
