2013 College Basketball North Carolina vs. N.C. State Picks & Predictions
By ATSSportsline.com

RALEIGH, NC (ATS Consultants) – N.C. State has had its issues with North Carolina in the past but can the Wolfpack score a rare win over the Tar Heels tonight at 7:00PM ET?

ODDS: Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv have installed N.C. State as a 5-point favorite over North Carolina for tonight’s game, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 156 points. The Wolfpack enter play with a 15-4 record overall and are 4-2 in the ACC, while the Tar Heels are 13-5 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

LINE MOVEMENT: N.C. State opened as a 5-point favorite and that's where the line currently sits. As for the total, it opened at 153 but has been bet up three full points up to 156 at most sports books.

PUBLIC BETTING: Of the wagers placed on tonight’s game, 52% of college basketball public bettors currently favor the Wolfpack. This information is subject to change, however, so make sure you click on the link provided for the most up-to-date public betting numbers.

NCAA FREE PICK: Take N.C. State. According to latest college basketball trends, the favorite is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings. N.C. State is: 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 vs. Atlantic Coast, 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Saturday games, 17-8-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall.

NC State has to be angry after giving up 86 points to Wake Forest on the road. They normally allow just 68ppg, while North Carolina allows 69.5ppg. The Wolfpack have already defeated Duke, but lost at Maryland and at Wake Forest after downing Duke. The Wolfpack will be sky high to face another rival, who is playing well. The Wolfpack have the edge at point guard where 6-5 Lorenzo Brown averages 6.9 assists per game. Up front, Richard Howell is a beast on the boards with 10.9 rebounds per game, while C.J. Leslie leads the team with 15.3ppg. The Wolfpack have one of the best shooting teams in the nation, averaging 51% from the field and also shoot 39% from the three-point line. Scott Wood is a dead-eye shooter who should get plenty of looks against UNC's three-point shooting defense (34% 3pt allowed). Expect the Wolfpack to cover with the homecourt advantage against a young North Carolina team facing it's tough road test yet.
