College Basketball Picks & Predictions for November 10, 2010
By Drew Sharper
The 2010-11 Men’s College Basketball Season gets in full swing on Wednesday night as one of the top teams in the Big Ten faces off with an opponent from the Mid-American Conference.
Illinois enters the game as the 13th-ranked team in the country. The Fighting Illini are already 1-0 with a 79-65 win over UC-Irvine on Monday night. The Illini went 21-15 last year and reach the NIT quarterfinals.
The Toledo Rockets are making their season debut with new coach Tod Kowalczyk, who replaced Gene Cross after two seasons. The Rockets went just 4-28 last season.
Here is a look at the trends and my pick for tonight’s game.
Toledo vs. Illinois, 8PM ET
There are no real trends to go on from this game other than Toledo is 80-111 against the spread as an underdog since 1997.
The Rockets have a lot of improving to do. Illinois has a big spread, but the Rockets are likely to struggle in their first game under a new coach.
