College Basketball Picks & Predictions for Thursday, January 6, 2011
By Drew Sharper
SEATTLE, WA (TheSpread) – No. 23 Washington hopes to avoid giving Oregon its first road win of the season on Thursday as the two meet. Here is a breakdown of my pick for this game.
Washington is 10-3 on the season and 7-0 at home and 2-0 in the Pac-10 while Oregon is 7-7 on the season and 0-1 on the road and 0-2 in conference play.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL.com have released their odds for this game and made Washington a 20.5-point favorite at home for this game. The over/under has been set at 150 points. Here is a look at the trends and my pick for tonight’s game.
Oregon vs. Washington, 8:30PM ET
Oregon is just 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 games in Washington while the favorite is 7-1 ATS in the last 8 games in this series. The over has hit in the last 4 games between these two and in 4 of the last five games played in Washington. Despite a large spread, my pick is with Washington as Oregon’s program has really fallen on hard times. The Huskies should be able to get out to a quick lead and cruise in the second half.
