College Basketball Picks & Predictions for Thursday, November 18, 2010
By Drew Sharper

Someone will take their first loss of the season on Thursday when Minnesota faces off with Western Kentucky.

Both teams enter the game at 2-0 with Minnesota having beaten Wofford and Siena while Western Kentucky has gotten past St. Joseph’s and Alabama A&M. This game will be played in Puerto Rico as part of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Tournament.

Oddsmakers from online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL.com have made Minnesota a 5-point favorite in this neutral-site game. The over/under has been set at 144.5. Here is a look at the trends and my pick for tonight’s game.

Western Kentucky vs. Minnesota, 7:30PM ET

Western Kentucky is 8-1 against the spread in their last 9 games as an underdog at a neutral site while the Hilltoppers are 4-1 ATS in their last five non-conference games. Minnesota is 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 games following a failed cover.

The over has hit in seven of the last 10 non-conference games for Western Kentucky and in the last six games where Minnesota is a favorite.
