College Basketball Picks & Predictions for Wednesday, February 16, 2011

(The Spread) – No. 10 meets No. 11 tonight when 11th-ranked Purdue hosts 10th-ranked Ohio State at 6:30PM ET. Who has the edge?
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made Purdue a 4.5-point favorite over Wisconsin on Wednesday night. The over/under total for this game is currently 124.5 points.
The Badgers enter tonight’s game with a 19-5 record overall and 3-4 on the road. According to latest college basketball trends, they’re 13-7 against the spread and 5-5 ATS on the road
The Boilermakers are 20-5 overall and have a dazzling 13-0 record at home. They’re 14-8 against the spread this season and 8-2 ATS in lined games played at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette.
College Basketball Free Pick: The Badgers have really struggled against the Boilermakers of late (spread-wise, that is). Wisconsin is just 3-7 against the number in its last 10 games against Purdue and 2-6 ATS in its last eight trips to West Lafayette. The Boilermakers have the edge in points per game, field goal percentage, rebounding and their depth off the bench is one reason we think they may roll tonight. They’re incredibly tough to beat at home and Wisconsin has been inconsistent on the road this season.
