NCAA FREE PICK: Take Texas Tech. According to the latest college basketball trends, West Virginia is 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS loss and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 vs. Big 12.

The Big 12 Tournament opens up play with #9 Texas Tech facing #8 West Virginia. Texas Tech (10-19 SU, 9-13 ATS) lost to Texas on Saturday, but played well at home, losing 71-69 in overtime, getting 6. West Virginia (13-18 SU, 9-18-2 ATS), in their first season in the Big 12, has lost six straight games. Their last win took place on Feb. 16 at home against the Red Raiders. The Red Raiders are led by redshirt junior forward Jaye Crockett, who received All-Big 12 honorable mention. Crockett actually came off the bench in 25 of 29 games and leads the team in scoring (11.9) and rebounding (6.8). Freshman guard Josh Gray ranks third among Big 12 freshmen in assists (92), second in steals (57) and seventh in scoring (9.6). Expect Texas Tech to grind this one out as this game could go either way and should go down to the wire. The winner will face top-seeded Kansas in the quarterfinals Thursday.
