Monday comp play will be for the Blackhawks to get back on track with the 2 goals or better win at home against the Senators.
Ottawa is playing their 3rd straight on the road, and their 3rd in their last 5 nights. Give the Sens credit for scoring an overtime win at Winnipeg their last time out, but tonight they will come up short against a Chicago team that is on an 8-2 run their last 10 games, but happens to be playing this home game off a 5-2 Saturday loss at home to Columbus.
Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews have turned back the clock, as the pair were responsible for both goals in that Saturday loss. As long as Chicago flashes some defense, they should be A-OK in tonight's 60 minutes.
That win over the weekend by Ottawa at Winnipeg snapped a 4 game road losing streak for the Senators, so don't expect them to conjure up a second straight road win in this spot on Monday.
Series numbers show the Blackhawks with 6 wins over the last 8 skates against the Senators, and that includes an overtime win early this season in Canada when Chicago was struggling.
The Blackhawks are harboring thoughts about sneaking into the postseason as the second Western Conference Wild Card, and if that is to be the case they better handle their business at home against this Senators team.
I think they will.
Take Chicago on the Puck Line for Monday.
2* CHICAGO -1 1/2 GOALS

Illinois vs. Wisconsin
Wisconsin-11 -107
The BIG 10 comp Play is on Wisconsin at 8:00 eastern. The Badgers are off a pair of losses but should rebound nicely here against an Illinois team they dispatched of easily on the road by 12 earlier in the year. Wisky has won all 3 at home vs teams ranked 50-200 in the rpi scale and they are 13-1 ats in this series and have covered 5 of 6 as a home favorite vs .400 or less teams. The Illini are 0-2 on the road vs top 50 teams losing by an average 16 per game. They are on a 4 game win streak and upset Ohio St as an 8 point road dog last out. They had lost 16 straight as a road dog prior to that win and have failed to cover 11 od 14 as a road dog off a road game and are 1-6 ats when they lose off a win. Look for Wisky toi win and cover

Kansas State vs. West Virginia
10* FREE NCAAB PICK (Kansas State -6.5)
I'll take my chances here with the Wildcats winning by at least 7 on the road against West Virginia. I just don't think the books have adjusted the number enough here for how short-handed the Mountaineers are right now.
We know going in that West Virginia will be down at least 3 of their top 6 scorers. Leading scorer Sagaba Konate is out indefinitely with a knee injury, while 3rd leading scorer Esa Ahmad and 6th leading scorer Wesley Harris were recently dismissed from the team for violating team rules. There's also a good chance they will be without second leading scorer James Bolden, whose been out since Jan. 26th with multiple injuries.
In West Virginia's last 3 games they have lost by 25 at Kansas, 22 at home to Texas and by 31 at Texas Tech. The most points they scored in any of those games was 53 and they shot 35% or worse from the field in all 3.
I know K-State will be shorthanded with Dean Wade unlikely to play and Carter Diarra out, but there's more than enough talent on the roster to win by double-digits, especially with the team motivated off a double-digit home loss to ISU. Give me the Wildcats -6.5!

Caps threw an absolute clunker out last night in Anaheim dropping a 5-2 decision and only registered 25 shots on goal. They'll look to bounce back tonight against a Kings side that have dropped 4 straight including a 6-4 loss at Washington last Monday.

Idaho vs. Eastern Washington
Eastern Washington-15½ -105
The Eastern Washington Eagles entered Saturday's matchup with Northern Colorado on a two-game losing streak. They managed to end their skid with an 88-78 OT win as a 2-point underdog, and I think the Eagles will parlay that momentum to a blowout win against the Idaho Vandals Monday night.
Idaho is 4-20 SU on the season and has covered the spread in just one of its last nine games. It scored only 47 points as it took a 28-point loss to Northern Colorado last time out. Idaho has been outscored by an average of 12.9 ppg on the season and allowed an average of 84.4 ppg through its last five games.
The Vandals won the first meeting of the season 74-71 home at Cowan Spectrum on Jan. 3. They're absolutely terriblel on the road though while Eastern Washington owns a winning record home at Reese Court. The revenge angle alone makes this an easy play on the home team IMO.
Free pick on Eastern Washington.

Virginia vs. Virginia Tech
1* Free NCAAB Pick on Virginia Tech Hokies +6
Love the value here with Virginia Tech as a decently priced home dog against in-state rival Virginia. The betting public is going to be all over the No. 4 ranked Cavaliers in this one, as a lot of people have written off the Hokies after losing point guard Justin Robinson. While Robinson's injury was a big blow, they have now played 5 games without him and are much better equipped to overcome his absence.
With the injury to Robinson, Virginia Tech has shifted to a more defensive-minded approach behind a matchup zone and it's really been effective. Virginia just played a similar type of defense on Saturday against Notre Dame and struggled big time. The Cavaliers managed just 60 points on 36.5% shooting, as they squeaked out a 6-point win as a 17-point favorite. Virginia is now 1-4 ATS last 5 and not only are the overvalued, but they just aren't playing great.
Virginia Tech is going to be 100% motivated for this one, as they were embarrassed in the earlier meeting at Virginia by 22. It's been a good spot to back the Hokies in the past, as they are 17-7 ATS over the last 3 seasons when revenging a loss, 8-1 ATS last 9 when revenging a loss by 10 or more and a perfect 6-0 ATS last 6 at home when revenging a double-digit road loss. Take Virginia Tech!

My free play for Monday night is on Wisconsin, as I'm laying the chalk against visiting Illinois, an overzealous Fighting Illini team that rolls in a four-game win streak, but that also has a horrendous scoring defense in comparison to the Badgers.
So here's the deal, while I know Illinois has won four in a row, I also know it is 2-11 away from home - 1-6 in true road games. I also know this team allows 75.6 points per road game. And now the Illini catch an angry Wisconsin team that has lost two straight - at Michigan and at home versus Michigan State.
The Badgers have been off since Feb. 12, and with nearly a week to regroup and focus on the final stretch, you're going to see this team at its best.
With the second-best scoring defense that allows 61.3 points per game overall, the Badgers give up just 62.1 at home and a stingy 58.2 in their last five trips to the court.
The first time they met - at Illinois - the Badgers won 72-60, in a game the Illini starting five was 18 of 51 from the field. That's a paltry 35 percent on Illinois' home court. Overall, the team shot 22 of 62, which is 35.4 percent from the field. Wisconsin won the rebounding battle, 34-29.
At the other end, Wisconsin hit 51.1 percent from the floor and 50 percent from long-range. Now, with two straight losses stinging, the Badgers come off five days of rest and get to play at home?
Speaking of 3-pointers, the defensively sound Badgers rank No. 1 with its long-range percentage with a .391 clip.
Sorry, but the oddsmakers have too many people fooled with this big line, and far too many getting suckered in for the underdog.
My free play is on Wisconsin, winning this one by a dozen... at least.

Coyotes vs. Flames
Flames-1½ +125
Free Puck Line Edition...BDS
Arizona (26-27-2) visits Canada after defeating Toronto (36-19-3) 2-0. Calgary (35-16-7) shows off a turnaround 5-4 victory Pittsburgh (31-21-7) after losing 4 straight games, 3 on the road to Florida (SO), Tampa Bay and Vancouver (SO). The Coyotes have been displaying improvement of late going 3-1 L4 and now bring wild card dreams to the ice on Monday night. In their last meeting (01/13/19) Calgary crushed 7-1 driving the series edge to 12-4 in Canada. In their most recent three losses Arizona has leaked an average of 3 goals a loss. Also, the Coyotes have experienced 2-9 mark after their opponent scored 5 or more goals in their last game, and they are 42-88 on the road. With Calgary out scoring Arizona 13-2 L2 battles, we’ll use the puck line this evening. Good Luck.

My free play for Monday night is on North Carolina A&T plus the points at Norfolk State.
This is a battle for first place, with Norfolk State sitting at 10-1 in league play and the Aggies one game back at 9-2. Both are on winning streaks, and that includes North Carolina A&T's most recent win, a road victory at Howard.
If anything, this game is going to come down to the team holding the ball last.
But I wouldn't be surprised to see the Aggies win this one outright.
They're both very similar statistically, at both ends of the court, but what intrigues me most about A&T is its .468 field goal percentage that leads the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The Aggies are very smart with the shots they take, and that makes a big difference in a game like this, when they'll need to utilize the entire shot clock to get the best shot selection.
They share the ball well, too, ranked fourth in the MEAC with 14.4 assists per game. They also ranks sixth with 6.7 steals per game. The Aggies lead the league in assist-to-turnover ratio, and that always triggers my radar.
I just think this is more of a pick'em or one-basket game.
I'll take the road pup.
3* NORTH CAROLINA A&T

My free play for tonight is Jackson State against Texas Southern, as I'm not bying the road Tigers laying points to the home Tigers.
Not when just 2 1/2 games separate the teams in SWACtion, and a late-season stretch could help propel Jackson State in the standings.
Texas Southern, which is mired in a 2-7 ATS slide, allows 80.2 points per game and 81.6 on the road. And even though it's won five in a row, four of them were at home. The lone road win was Saturday, a 1-point victory over Grambling.
Jackson State is starving for a victory, having lost three straight, so this is a good spot to expect these Tigers to play their best tonight, snap the skid and take advantage of Texas Southern's rather weak defense.
Take the home pup.
1* JACKSON STATE
