The Lakers wild road trip continues here on Sunday in Philadelphia, as Los Angeles was given a rude welcome in their one night stay at Indiana, the Pacers pasting LA, 136-94 earlier this week.

Then on Thursday, when the Lake Show looked dead and buried, they came from 18 points down to win at Boston. Both of those games landed Over the total, as the Lakers have played 3 of their first 4 on this road trip that will conclude on Tuesday in Atlanta Over the total so far.

The 76ers continue to post scores well into the 100's, as they scored 117 in Friday's home win over Denver, but that game stayed Under the total, as have each of Philly's last 5 games.

Joel Embiid is listed as questionable for this game, but even if he cannot go, the addition of scorer Tobias Harris should fill the void.

I am going to play this Sunday afternoon meeting in the City of Brotherly Love to land Over the total.

Los Angeles is 5-1 Over the total their last 6 on the road, and they come into this game averaging both 112 points per game, while giving up 112 points per game.

Philadelphia posts 115.4 points per game for, while allowing just over 112 points per game against.

With this one going out on ABC TV, expect both teams to give the viewing audience what they want...and that's a ton of up and down offense with plenty of points generated.

Lakers and 76ers to land Over the total.

4* L.A. LAKERS-PHILADELPHIA OVER

First time all season Miami has been this big of an underdog, and they do enter this game at Golden State at 2-0 against the spread as the +9 1/2 point dog or higher. Still, cannot get excited about backing this Miami team that has not been able to generate much offense lately - just 99.6 points per game averaged over their last 9 on the year - as they are 3-6 straight up and against the spread over those 9 games.

The Heat is playing their 3rd in a row on the road, as they were able to open their 6 game road swing with an outright win in Portland, but were held to 96 points on Friday in a loss at Sacramento, and they will be on the road for a game again tomorrow in Denver against the Nuggets.

The Warriors should have no issue winning this game, as they have won 15 of their last 16 games straight up. The issue may well be this big impost, as the Dubs have only been able to cover the number one time in their last 4 games, and just 3 in their last 7 games overall. Still, Golden State does own a winning 14-6 spread mark for the season when laying -10 points or more this year, and Steve Kerr's team is average just over 119 points per game for the year.

Golden State won both meetings last year, winning by 28 in Miami, and by 17 at Oracle Arena, this will be the first of two this year between the teams, and it should be another comfortable ride for the Warriors tonight.

Low scoring outputs, coupled with another game on the road is going to lead to this game getting away from Miami in Oaktown on Sunday night.

Take the Warriors.

2* GOLDEN STATE

While pretty much everybody else skated yesterday, the Blackhawks had the luxury of enjoying a rare Saturday idle.

That rest, coupled with the tear they have been on will serve them well this afternoon at home against a Detroit team that played in Buffalo on Saturday afternoon, and lost a 3-1 decision.

The Red Wings have now dropped their last pair after a 3 game winning streak. The real issue for Detroit today though is the fact this will be their 8th time on the road over their last 11 games since prior to the break, and they will be facing a Blackhawks team that has been "light's out", as they continue their improbable push towards one of the two wild card spots in the Western Conference.

By beating Vancouver, 4-3 in overtime on Thursday, Chicago has now won their last 6 games!

This will be the first meeting between these two "Original Six" teams, and Chicago has skated to the win in 4 of the last 6 series meetings, with 3 of their 4 wins in that span coming by 2 goals or better. The Blackhawks have also won 9 of the last 12 played in the Windy City between the teams.

This is just a very tough spot for the visiting Red Wings who did not have the benefit of Saturday off, and I look for them to be a little gassed against the charging-hard Blackhawks here on Sunday afternoon.

Chicago a Puck Line winner for Sunday.

3* CHICAGO -1 1/2 GOALS

SCOTT RICKENBACH

Ohio State vs. Indiana
Ohio State+3

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach CBB Game #821 Sunday Free Pick Ohio State Buckeyes (+) @ Indiana Hoosiers @ 1 ET - Winning builds confidence and the Buckeyes have it again right now while the Hoosiers certainly don't. Keep in mind, Ohio State began this season with 6 straight wins, then they lost a game, then they again won 6 straight games. Now, after a rough stretch the first 5 games of January, Ohio State is back on track as they've won 3 of their last 4 games. As for Indiana, it certainly is hard to say the same thing. While it is true that the Hoosiers had a recent upset win (in OT) at Michigan State and deserve some credit for that, it is important to look at some key facts. That is the ONLY win that Indiana has in their last NINE games! Also, the boxscore of the Hoosiers win over the Spartans tells you how improbable that was! Indiana made 10 of 20 three pointers! That is not normal by any stretch of the imagination. Neither is this: Michigan State MISSED 14 of 22 free throws! The Spartans are hitting 73% free throws on the year and the Hoosiers are hitting 33% of their three pointers on the year. So lets apply those figures to the above attempts and you have Indiana only making 6 (or maybe 7) of those threes and you have the Spartans only missing 7 of the 22 free throws. Of course the difference in this in points is as many as 19 points. The Hoosiers won that game by 4 points but were a 15 point dog in that game. That is a 19 point variance from the line and I just told you where the 19 points came from. In other words, barring that unreal statistical anomaly of shooting the Hoosiers would be on a 9-game losing streak. Even as it stands now their home loss to Iowa killed the momentum from the Michigan State upset and the Hoosiers are realizing their chances at the Big Dance have slipped away. They will call this an upset but really it would be Indiana losing their 10th game in a row were it not for the Spartans miracle. Free Pick OHIO STATE

The NCAAB Comp Play is on Memphis at 3:00 eastern. The Tigers blew a late lead against a much tougher Cincy team last out but should handle a U.Conn team that has lost and failed to cover 3 straight here as a road dog and is 0-2 this year vs RPI Teams ranked 50-100 if on the road. Memphis is 4-0 at home vs RPI Teams ranked 50-200 like 138th ranked U.Conn. The Tigers have won 12 straight here as a home favorite covering in 5 of the last 6 in that role. Memhis has covered 4 straight in this series and the Huskies have failed to cover 39 of 57 off a loss and 11 of the last 14 on the road. Make it Memphis.
