NCAA-B | Georgia Tech vs Virginia Tech
Play on: UNDER 123 -112

The offensive results have not been great for Virginia Tech so far without Justin Robinson. They have scored 47, 64 and 51 points without their point guard. The reason is that their three point shooting has struggled for the most part with no one getting the players in the right positions. Nickeil Alexander Walker is taking on a bigger role and Kerry Blackshear has as well. The one thing that has worked is the defense which has clamped down on opponents at home. Georgia Tech has scored 60 points or less in five straight and seven of their last eight. They just don't have a ton of options outside Jose Alvarado. The good thing is that the defense has been very good especially on the road where they held FSU to 59, Duke to 66 and Syracuse to 59. These two played down in Atlanta back on January 9th with the Hokies winning 52-49. I think we could see something along the same lines on Wednesday.

NHL | Oilers vs Penguins
Play on: Oilers +1½ -160 at Bovada

I’m playing on the Oilers +1.5 goals (FREE PLAY). After losing six straight the Oilers finally broke through with a decent 4-1 road win over Minnesota, but Edmonton quickly reverted to its shoddy form in a 5-2 home loss to the Sharks in its most recent action. The Oilers come to Pittsburgh still hungry for victories and in a contest which I envision being decided late or even in extra time, I’m going to recommend a second look at the visitors on the “puck line.” The Penguins come in off a 4-1 win over Philadelphia, but previous to that they’d lost four in a row. The Oilers play with “revenge” today after Pittsburgh won in Edmonton earlier in the season (note they’re a solid 10-5, +7.1 units revenging a home loss vs. an opponent this year). The Pens have “played down” to the level of their competition all year (12-14, -12.3 units vs. clubs with losing records) and I think that comes back to haunt them again tonight. Consider Edmonton on the puck-line in this one.

NCAA-B | Creighton vs Xavier
Play on: Xavier +1½ -108 at pinnacle

My 1* Free Play is on Xavier (8:30 EST).

Xavier beat Georgetown and Butler, but since then it’s lost six straight. A date vs. the struggling Creighton Blue Jays is just what the doctor ordered through to get untracked as Creighton comes in with zero confidence after consecutive setbacks to Seton Hall and Villanova.

Creighton turned the ball over 13 times in its most recent loss to Seton Hall and it was held to just 30.3 percent shooting.

The Musketeers are now likely in too big of a hole to climb out of as far as competing for the conference, but they have to start somewhere.

Despite having the clear overall “motivation” factor working in their favor today in my opinion, I’ll point out as well that the Musketeers are also 3-1 ATS in their last four after two consecutive losses of ten or more points to conference rivals.

The Blue Jays on the other hand are 4-7 ATS as the underdog this season and only 3-5 ATS on the road.

No more excuses for Xavier, it’s now or never. Consider the home side in this one.

Good luck…Larry

NCAA-B | Arizona State vs Colorado
Play on: Colorado -2 -113 at pinnacle

Play - Colorado (Game 844).

Edges - Buffaloes: Series host is 10-2-1 ATS … Sun Devils: Off revenge game with Washington with another revenge game on deck with Utah; and 2-11 ATS before the Utes … With the Buffs looking to avenge their worst loss ever in this series, an 83-61 defeat in Tempe last month, we recommend a 1* play on Colorado. Thank you and good luck as always.

Comp play for Wednesday is for the Raptors to head to the break with a blowout home win over the Wizards.

Toronto made a deal prior to the trade deadline for big-man Marc Gasol, and thus far the transition has been seamless for the Raptors and Gasol, as Toronto is playing this one off their 5th straight win on Monday night, a 127-125 win at home over the upstart Brooklyn Nets.

Tonight's opponent has only been able to win and cover 3 times over their last 9 games, and while Washington made some moves prior to the trade deadline, the addition of both Jabari Parker and Bobby Portis from the Bulls didn't really help them up front on Monday when they got out-rebounded by 13, and outscored by 16 in the paint against Detroit. That should have Gasol licking his chops to get to work for his new team in the paint tonight!

These teams are no strangers to one another, as they met in a playoff series last season and the Raptors prevailed in 6 games. Toronto has claimed all 3 regular season series meetings this year with covers in 2 of the 3 wins, and they are now riding a 5 game win streak in this rivalry, and have also won 8 of the past 10. The Raptors have also covered in each of the last 5 series meetings at home versus the Wizards.

Toronto does enter play on this final day before the All-Star Break just one game behind the Milwaukee Bucks who will be playing in Indiana against a Pacers team that is playing quite well right now. So, perhaps a chance here for the Raptors to head to the break with the top spot in the East in their possession with a win over the Wizards?

I will lay the lumber with the home team tonight, as Toronto makes it a 6 game winning streak.

2* TORONTO

Just as I was comfortable in laying the chalk on the road with Loyola Chicago in its Missouri Valley Conference battle at Valparaiso, I'm doing it once again with the Ramblers - winners in four of their last five and seven of their last nine contests - laying a cheap number at Bradley.

The Ramblers has covered 37 of 54 road games dating back, and roll into this one with a 9-3 conference record. This team is focused right now, and road games don't worry me when it comes to this team.

In their first two road MVC road wins at Drake and Indiana State, the Ramblers scored 80.0 points per game and shot a blistering 58.3 percent (56-for-96) from the floor and 53.8 percent (21-for-39) from 3-point range.

Three days back they had no choice but to buckle down and play defense, in a 56-51 win at Valpo. The nice thing about the Ramblers is they can adjust, and they can certainly take a team to task no matter the pace of the game.

And the confidence will be brewing in this one, as the Ramblers hold a 34-26 advantage in the all-time series, while they've claimed nine of the last 11 and six of the last seven.

Since joining the Missouri Valley Conference, Loyola is 9-4 against Bradley. And while I know the Ramblers are 8-22 all-time in Peoria, they have won five of the last seven games at Carver Arena.

I would be a bit more worried if Bradley was still reeling, after dropping its first five Valley contests. But the Braves rebounded to win five of the last seven league games, including each of the last two. That means Loyola will come in focused, and won't be taking this team lightly.

The Ramblers have covered four of the last five meetings, and four of the last five at Bradley. I'll lay the cheap number.

Which Arizona State team are we going to see tonight in Boulder?

Will it be the one that went out last Thursday on their home court as the -15 point favorites and lost to Washington State, 90-71, or will it be the Sun Devils team that followed that clunker with a 75-63 win on Saturday night at home over the ranked Huskies of Washington!??!!?

Bobby Hurley's team has been pretty tough to get a gauge on, but tonight on the road I think they are going to taste defeat again as they take on a Colorado team that has been quietly playing their best basketball of the season. The Buffaloes are back home after a City of Angels Pac 12 sweep last week, as CU won by double-digits at UCLA, and then followed with a 4-point win at USC. They were underdogs in BOTH games! Their last time at home they drilled Oregon, 73-51 in a game that was priced right around a pick.

So, a "quiet" 3 game straight up and against the spread winning streak for the home team, and the home team also happens to be in a revenge spot for a January 5th torch-job they incurred in Tempe when they lost by an 83-61 count to the Sun Devils! That win by Arizona State put the host in this series at a perfect 10-0 both straight up and against the spread the last 10 times these conference rivals have faced one another.

Arizona State has not been on the road in over 2 weeks, and their last road game was a loss both straight up and against the spread at Southern Cal, as the Sun Devils have now dropped 2 of their last 3 both straight up and against the spread on the Pac 12 road.

Colorado is only allowing 68.8 points per game for the year, while Arizona State allows 73.4 points per contest. The Buffs also shoot the rock at just over 73% from the free throw line as a team, while the Sun Devils are just below 67% as a team from the charity stripe. In a game priced close to a pick, the better defense and the better free-throw shooting team - which happens to be the home team - usually prevails.

I am going with Colorado in revenge.

Scott Rickenbach

NCAA-B | South Carolina vs Tennessee
Play on: OVER 152½ -109

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach CBB Game #785 Wednesday Free Pick OVER the total in Tennessee Volunteers vs South Carolina Gamecocks @ 6:30 ET - Tennessee is the #1 ranked team in the nation thanks in large part to tremendous offensive production. Of course that should continue here against South Carolina as the Gamecocks certainly aren't known for playing shutdown defense. South Carolina is allowing 75.5 points per game on the road this season. The key to the value with the over here is that the posted total on this game has been dropping down even though this is the perfect type of game to expect very little defense. The Volunteers have a huge game on deck at Kentucky on Saturday. As a result, the Vols intensity on defense is likely reserved for that game. This particular game versus the Gamecocks is a clear lookahead game for Tennessee. However, even with that said, that doesn't mean the Volunteers aren't going to score well at home. It just means that this game is very likely to be a very loosely played game with plenty of "run and gun" and, of course, that should equate to plenty of points here! The Vols are averaging 85.4 points per game at home this season. The Gamecocks are averaging 74.1 points per game on the season. The set up here is perfect for a shootout. Free Pick OVER the total in Tennessee
