John Martin

Seattle Mariners -127

The Seattle Mariners are 6-1 in their last seven games overall and have really gotten their bats going. They have scored at least 5 runs in all six wins, including a combined 21 runs in winning each of the first two games of this series with Tampa Bay. Now the Rays' bullpen is shot and they have Erasmo Ramirez on the mound, a guy that never goes deep into games because he's used to being in the bullpen. He is averaging just 4.7 innings over four starts this season. Ariel Miranda has been solid for the Mariners are 5-2 with a 4.17 ERA in 11 starts, including 2-1 with a 2.36 ERA in four home starts. Tampa Bay is 1-10 when revenging a road blowout loss vs opponent of 6 runs or more over the last three seasons.

Wunderdog

Chicago @ Detroit
Pick: Under 9.5

David Holmberg gets a chance to start for the White Sox after pitching 14 1/3 innings out of the bullpen with a 2.51 ERA. Justin Verlander goes for the Tigers, and he comes off a heartbreaking 1-0 loss at Kansas City when he gave up just the run on six hits in seven innings. Verlander faced Chiacgo on Opening Day, and Detroit won 6-3 as he gave up two runs on six hits in 6 1/3 innings whith 10 strikeouts. Verlander is 2-0 with a 1.61 ERA at home this season, and he allowed only six runs in 21 innings against the White Sox last year. The Tigers are 10-3-1 UNDER in Verlander's last 14 home starts and 25-11-2 UNDER in his last 38 starts overall, including 10-3-2 UNDER versus teams with losing records. Look for the Tigers' hitting to cool off after the last couple days.

Dave Essler

Rockies -130

I know it looks obvious but IMO it is. Cosart just hasn't had enough work to think he can keep the Padres pen out of the game for long. It almost doesn't matter who the Rockies throw out there - or rest, and I suspect they might rest someone, or a couple of someones. They did rest Reynolds yesterday.
