Atlanta Braves at Miami Marlins
Play: 1H Atlanta Braves +128

You really have to love what 43 yr old Bartolo Colon has been doing the last few years. He is an old guy who thinks he is 20 again and as an old guy myself we really appreciate what he has done as we have that same attitude in life. Last year he was a stellar 15-8 with a 3.43 ERA and he started right where he left off in his first appearance of the year. Colon pitched 6 strong innings and allowed 1 run in a 3-1 victory over the Mets. His opponent on the hill tonight is RH Dan Straily (2016: 14-8, 3.76 ERA). Straily had a rough start to open up the season allowing 5 runs in 3 1/3 innings. We like Colon to have another good start tonight. We are going to play the first 5 innings here as we can't trust the Atlanta bullpen. We found that out the hard way on Sunday. We are getting some good plus money here and we will take it.

Mets -145

I don’t think there has been a pitcher that we have faded more in the past 5 years. Clay Buchholz has just been money in the bank when we go against him. I really can’t believe the Phillies went out and made this guy a starter. The Mets are a better team with the better starter and bullpen and should get another win.

TEXAS +110 over LA Angels

The Angels send Tyler Skaggs to the hill tonight after the right-hander’s first start since having Tommy John surgery did not go well. Skaggs failed to get out of the fifth inning a 5-1 loss to Oakland on April 6 and we expect his struggles to continue tonight. Not only does he now have a 1-4 career record with a 4.69 ERA in 13 starts in this ballpark, but he also has a dismal 5.49 ERA in four-career starts against Texas. The Rangers are +18 units of profit the last three seasons when facing a left-handed starter, including an 8-1 thrashing of Oakland on Sunday and get the job done again tonight against a struggling Skaggs.

Lakers -2.5

The Lakers have enjoyed their best week of the season, winning 4 in a row, and they've now covered 5 straight heading into this clash with New Orleans. New Orleans HC Alvin Gentry might be poised to put his toys back in the toy box for the year, as PF Anthony Davis rested his sore knee Saturday and C DeMarcus Cousins sat the last few games with a sore Achilles. The Lakers are woefully short on big men, but with Davis and Cousins both expected to miss tonight, Lakers might extend the Pelicans' pointspread woes (1-6 L7).
