Jazz at Lakers
Pick: Jazz +5

The Lakers have all but lost the chance at potential home court advantage in the finals vs the Cavs by losing three of their last four. After getting beaten by the Hornets in New Orleans, they lost badly in Atlanta, thus allowing revenge in each of their last two games. This is not a spot in which the Lakers are a good investment. LA is 0-7 ATS at home when they allowed revenge in each of their last two games.

The Hawks shot 54.2% from the field and beat them 109-92 on Wednesday, and the Lakers simply haven’t been able to respond favorably to these types of games. The Purple-n-Gold are 0-11 ATS (-7.1 ppg) as a favorite with at most one day of rest after a double digit road loss in which they allowed at least 50% from the field.

Kobe Bryant scored 28 points in a losing effort vs the Hawks, making 2-of-3 from long range. This has been the death knell of the Lakers ATS chances, as they are 0-11 ATS (-9.3 ppg) with rest after a loss on the road in which Kobe Bryant shot better than 50% from the arc.

The Jazz are off three wins over weak opponents in which they shot 50+% from the field in each. Another team might be in a soft spot here, but the well-coached Jazz should have no trouble maintain their high level of play in LA. Utah is 5-0 ATS after a game at home in which they had at least ten more assists than in the game before 5-0 ATS after a double-digit home win in which more than 70% of their baskets were assisted and 6-0 ATS after a win in which they controlled at least 60% of the available rebounds. Grab the points.

MTi’s FORECAST: Utah 107 LA LAKERS 105

The Duke's Sports

Miami Under (193') for 2.5 Units

Both of these teams are playing great ball right now; one of the main reasons for their success is defense. Miami, which is #2 in the NBA is points allowed (94.1 ppg) and FG% allowed (43.8%), has allowed just 80.5 ppg on 37% shooting during their 6-0 run. On the other hand, the defensively soft Pacers (allow 104 ppg), may have finally figured out how to play defense for they've allowed just 92 ppg over their last 5 games. Indiana sports a 7-19-2 mark as a home favorite, 2-5 O/U as a small favorite, and 2-5 O/U after scoring 100+ in their previous game. Miami, on the other hand, controls a 5-15 O/U mark as a small road dog, and is 3-10 O/U in its last 13 following a SU win of more than 10 points. As a series, its gone 0-4 o/U in the last 4 and 1-7 O/U at Conseco Fieldhouse. Value with the "under".

Calgary Flames vs. Colorado Avalanche
Play: Calgary Flames +117

10* graded play on Calgary as they take on Colorado set to start at 9:35 EST. This is a huge Western Conference game with huge playoff implications. The 8th spot is the last spot to be determined in the Western Conference with Calgary just 2 points behind Colorado. There still could be juggling int he seedings, but this matchup is for the final spot. Calgary is the desperate team here and they cannot go down 4 points with just 4 games remaining. Our proprietary sports handicapping model and simulator shows a high probability that Supporting this graded play is a system that has produced a record of 43-23 for 65.2% winners since 2004. The average play has been a +112.4 dog, which nearly matches the line for this game as well. Play against home teams against the money line revenging a home loss versus opponent and is off a home blowout loss by 3 goals or more. Colorado is just 0-4 against the money line (-6.3 Units) against poor offensive teams scoring <=2.55 goals/game when the game occurs in the 2nd half of this season; 0-8 against the money line (-9.5 Units) after allowing 4 goals or more 3 straight games over the last 2 seasons; 0-7 against the money line (-8.9 Units) after playing 3 straight games where 7 or more total goals were scored this season. Take Calgary.
