Toronto -4.5
Toronto has covered just TWO of its last eight games at Air Canada Centre, falling to 8-11 SU and ATS at home this year. However, the Raptors can't help but remember Detroit's last visit here (Dec 22), as the Pistons won, 115-93. It's also fair to say the Pistons remember that game as well, as it represents Detroit's LONE road win in its last 14 games. Note that Kuester held Hamilton out of Wednesday's game with Memphis (making sure he stays healthy for the trade?), so who knows if he'll play here? The Pistons' are just a 'shell' of the team they once were and while the Raptors have their fair share of issues as well, the Raptors are the better team. Andrea Bargnani (21.6-5.7) is one of the more obscure No. 1 overall draft picks but he's an excellent outside shooter and a shot-blocker as well. DeRozan (14.6-3.4) is developing into an excellent "big guard" while Calderon (10.3-7.9 APG) is an underrated PG. Barbosa (13.8) may not be the explosive player off the bench he was with the Suns but I'll take him over the 'washed-up' Ben Gordon of Detroit, any day. Weems (11.5) has played well in the backcourt plus forwards like Kleiza (11.3-4.7) and Johnson (9.0-6.1) give solid efforts each night. The Raptors don't get to 'circle' many games these days but I have to believe they'll want some "payback" from that embarrassing 22-point home loss to a team which is 3-17 on the road. Lay it with Toronto.
