King Creole

3* New York Knicks +10.5

The KNICKS take to the road on a Western Conference road trip off a great UPSET win over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night. We're delighted and confident to be playing ON New York in some of their best TEAM ATS situations. For instance, DID YOU KNOW? .... That the KNICKS have gone a VERY profitable 18-3 ATS in the last 6 seasons as DOUBLE-DIGIT Underdogs vs a Western Conference opponent. And in the last 3 seasons, they are a PERFECT 8-0 ATS when catching this many points! The KNICKS are also GREAT in their first game of an extended road trip. New York is 12-3 ATS since 2002 in the FIRST GAME of a 4+ road trip... off 3 or more home games in a row. In the last 5 years, they have gone 7-1 ATS.

We have a rare and unique REST situation in tonight's game. Phoenix last played on Monday night (3 days rest)... while the Knicks played o~n Tuesday (2 days rest).
1-9 ATS this season: All HOME teams in a '3+/2' REST situation (Suns). And FAVS of 4 > points in this scheduling situation have gone a PERFECT 0-3 ATS (Suns).

Teams who take to the road off multiple home games have done very well this season... when playing with the confidence of a WIN in their last game.
30-14 ATS this season: All NBA road teams playing off 3 or more home games in a row and a SU win in their last game (KNICKS). These teams have gone 7-1 ATS vs Non-Conference opponents (like the Suns)... and a PERFECT 6-0 ATS if that opponent is off an ATS loss (like the Suns are).

Since we touched on the Non-Conference aspect of this game, I also ran a query for BIG DOGS in this situation. It looks GREAT for our Knicks tonight.
Since February 1st, NON-CONFERENCE double-digit UNDERDOGS have gone an amazing 22-5 ATS (KNICKS). Teams in the EASTERN Conference (KNICKS) have gone 15-2 ATS... and 1-9 ATS vs any opponent off a SU win (like the Suns).

Phoenix comes off a game vs division rival Golden State in which they won by a HIGH score of 133 to 131.... the Over / Under line in that game was a whopping 243 points.

10-22 ATS SINCE 1995: All NBA teams coming off a SU win in which they scored AND allowed 130 or more points (Suns). Larger favorites of -7 or more points (Sun) have gone a PERFECT 0-4 ATS.

0-5 ATS since 1992: All NBA teams playing off an ATS road loss (Phoenix did NOT cover) in a game that went OVER the TOTAL with a line of 240 or more points (Suns)....

New York's big DOG win over Denver seals the deal for us...
4-0 ATS since December: All NBA teams playing of fa SU non-conference home win in which they were an underdog of +6 or more points (KNICKS).

Dr. Bob

2* Utah (-5) over INDIANA

Indiana has been playing well lately, winning 4 consecutive games and covering in 10 of their last 11 contests, but the Pacers apply to a negative 48-118-3 ATS letdown situation and a 19-68-3 ATS letdown situation (the record is 0-7 ATS when both apply to the same team). The Pacers are still just 10-26-1 ATS against greater than .400 teams when not getting more than 9 points, so they've generally struggled against mediocre and good teams. Utah, meanwhile, is now 13-2 ATS on the road against sub-.600 teams when not laying more than 5 points and the Jazz are on a 31-10 ATS run as a favorite, including 8 consecutive spread wins laying points. My ratings favor Utah by 6 1/2 points and I'll take Utah in a 2-Star Best Bet at -6 points or less.

NBA Opinions

Detroit (+1 1/2) over NEW JERSEY
The Nets won their 8th game of the season on Wednesday, but they're still just 4-31 straight up at home this season and 12-30-1 ATS in all games when not getting more than 9 points. The Pistons have been struggling lately, losing straight up and to the point spread in 6 consecutive games, but that losing streak sets up Detroit in a 71-28 ATS bounce-back situation and bad teams tend to do well against the lowly Nets. Even with their win over the Kings, the Nets are still just 4-20 straight up against the league's other bad teams (the bottom 10) and New Jersey is 0-4 straight up this season when favored. Detroit's defense has been a problem without Ben Wallace and I do get New Jersey by 2 points if I factor in the Pistons' recent level of play since Wallace has been out. So, the line is pretty fair and the situation is favorable. I'll lean with Detroit as an underdog based on the good situation.

Sacramento (+11 1/2) over BOSTON
Sacramento has been whipped in their last two games, but they're still a bit better without Tyreke Evans (5-3 ATS in games he's missed) and the Kings are 8-1 ATS as an underdog of more than 10 points. Boston, meanwhile, is just 5-20-1 ATS as a double-digit favorite since last February and I'll lean with the Kings at +11 or more tonight.
