4* Presidents Day 21 Gun Salute - Villanova Wildcats
For my Presidents Day 21 Gun Salute I am playing on the Villanova Wildcats minus the points over the UConn Huskies. At first glance this line looks like a golden opportunity for dog players to take the points with UConn. The line opened at -10 and has been quickly bet down at Caesars and most local books to -9.5. It is still sitting at -10 at the MGM and Mirage so stay away from those places, and if you decide to not buy the hook, it might be worth waiting as we will probably see more "Sucker" money come in and move the line down further. UConn comes in with people expecting a "Bounce Back" game from them after losing 60-48 to Cincy on 2/13 and why not? The last time the Spread was this large they covered AT Syracuse (I released a play on Uconn which won.) So why is this line so inflated? If we look closer at the numbers here I see a blowout win by Villanova. Villanova is 7-3 ATS in home games this year, UConn has struggled all year to keep it together and I see more of the same tonight. Villanova is 16-7 ATS all year and is 6-2 ATS when the total is between 150-160. They are also 11-5 ATS vs Teams with winning records and are a perfect 4-0 ATS off of 1 or less days rest. Villanova is 8-4 ATS vs Conference opponents. Now lets take a look at UConn - UConn is just 8-14 ATS this year and is just 1-6 ATS off a loss vs a conf rival. UConn has only averaged 63.67 PPG their L6 games and with a sky high total of 155 that leaves the other 91 points to be scored by Guess WHO? Villanova - as they have averaged 87.1 PPG their L7 and have the Nations 2nd highest scoring Offense at 85.4 PPG. Nova is 1-0 ATS and SU the L3 years in games played at home, and 6-2 ATS vs Uconn since '97. Nova is 2-0 ATS vs UConn the last 2 years. UConn has lost 7 straight road games. Villanova is outscoring its opponents by an average of 18.6 ppg in winning all 11 of its home games TY. This game has Blowout written all over it.
