Marc Lawrence

3 Units LA Tech +9

Revenge is certainly plays a key role in this matchup as Kerry Rupp's Bulldogs will be looking to take a bite out of the Aggies after dropping three of the last four meetings to New Mexico State, including a double-dip last season. Louisiana Tech owns a 4-0 ATS mark in this series when playing with revenge, plus the 'Dogs have gone 3-0 ATS as dogs off a loss in this series. On the flip side, the Aggies from Las Cruces are 5-17 ATS at home taking on a team they beat twice the previous campaign. They're also just 26-46-3 ATS of late as home chalk versus all avenging foes. La Tech is making strides in the right direction, and with NMSU 0-3 ATS this season against .500 or less avenging foes, we'll grab the generous points tonight. Bottom line is the 12-12 Aggies can't be trusted laying this kind of wood to a motivated foe. It's a take.

THE PREZ

Murray State at Eastern Illinois
Pick: Murray State -8

The Racers will rotate several defenders off the bench to slow Jeremy Granger, the one player that carries Eastern Illinois. Granger averaged 21.5 ppg in the Panthers home losses to Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State. He hit 17-of-31 from the floor and continued to display his improved 3-point shot, canning 5-of-10 - this speaks volumes for what you can expect EIU to do against better talent like tonight's Murry State squad. We chart tonight's game out with Murray State being a 50 percent double-digit winner so laying the eight points isn't an issue. The Panthers are 1-7 ATS at home this season losing by an average of nearly 15 points. Take Murray State minus the points

College Opinion

Illinois-Chicago (+16½) over BUTLER

Butler tends to get up for big games and winning at Cleveland State as a 3 ½ point underdog on Saturday is more evidence of that, but the Bulldogs tend to letdown against lesser conference teams. Butler is just 11-29 ATS as a double-digit favorite against conference opponents under coach Brad Stevens, including 5 straight spread losses in that role. Butler also applies to a negative 45-96-1 ATS big favorite letdown situation that is based on their upset win. My ratings favor Butler by 17½ points so the line is a little low, but I’ll still lean with Illinois-Chicago as a big dog.
