Wizards +5
I'm playing on WASHINGTON. Both these teams are far better on their own homecourt. With this game being played at Washington and the Wizards being given a handful of points to work with, I believe that the value lies with the home underdog,
The Wizards are absolutely terrible (0-19!) on the road. However, they've been far more competitive here at home. In fact, with another win last time out, the Wizards are now 11-8 at the Verizon Center. That includes a 3-0 mark their last three games here.
The Jazz have been solid on the road this season, as they've won 12 of 18 away from Salt Lake City. However, they've always been a far better home team and are still just 49-59 SU on the road, the past few seasons.
The Jazz have played only three road games since 12/30. They lost two of them by double-digits and won the other by only four points.
This year, Utah is outscoring opponents by a 98.6 to 98 margin on the road. Meanwhile, the Wizards are outscoring opponents by a 98.9 to 96.2 margin here at home.
The Wizards are 2-1 ATS as home underdogs in the +3.5 to +6 range this season. They beat a "good" Western Conference team (Portland) here at this same starting time (1:00 ET) last MLK Day, earning a 97-92 victory. I look for them to be at their best once again this year.
