20* NBA Hi-Roller Total

Magic/Grizzlies Over

The Orlando Magic have won three straight games after beating up on Charlotte Saturday, 106-95. The Magic are tied for first place in the East's Southeast Conference with Atlanta. Orlando is 9th in the league in scoring at 101.27 points per game and seventh in defensive scoring, allowing 96.20 points per game. The Memphis Grizzlies have been playing their best ball of the season, winners of seven of their last 10 games. The Grizzlies are in a very competitive Southwest division where only 5 1/2 games separate first from last. Memphis is coming off a win at home on Friday over Oklahoma City, 86-84. The win was the Grizzlies 10th straight at the FedEx Forum despite shooting a poor 39.2% from the field. Despite the low output, the Grizzlies have scored more than 100 points in four of their last six games and 12 of their last 17. The Grizzlies are fourth in the league in points scored with an average of 103.95 and 24th in points allowed with a 103.86 average. The biggest difference this season is that of Zach Randolph. Randolph is the club's leading scorer (20.9 ppg) and has averaged 25.8ppg and 14.4 rebounds during their 10 game home winning streak. Orlando plays good defense, but Memphis is shooting well at home during this streak and they should easily break 100 points. Consider the fact that Memphis doesn't play the best defense and this game will go OVER tonight.

Western Carolina -7

Here's another game that reminds us of a recent winning selection we had. Last Wednesday, we went against what had been a previously red-hot and very profitable William & Mary team with Virginia Commonwealth (always one of our favorites) as our 20* CAA Game of the Month. What happened? The Rams smashed the Tribe 81-59 as eight-point favorites. Same thing applies here. Remember, just like the stock market, the mantra of "buy low, sell high" applies to sports betting as well. Now is the time to "sell" on College of Charleston, who has cashed eight straight games coming in. They are also 8-2 ATS as an underdog. Six of their recent eight wins have been of the outright variety in the underdog role. Western Carolina, meanwhile, has struggled against the pointspread, failing to cover spreads of 16 and 17 at home against UNC Greensboro and Elon. They also are off an outright loss at Appalachian State as one-point favorites. This game sets us beautifully for the Catamounts. They are 6-0 ATS as a home favorite of six or less the last two seasons and have not lost here all year. That includes a 70-68 win over C of C last season. That was their only home cover vs. the Cougars over a six-game stretch and furthermore they have revenge from a terrible 19-point loss in last year's Southern Conference Tournament where they shot just 33% from the floor and 30% from the free throw line. Take Western Carolina.

Western Kentucky +6

What in the world has happened to the Hilltoppers, losers of three in a row both SU and ATS, all in conference play. This non-conference battle against Southern Illinois now sets up as "must-win" territory for WKU and while we're not sure if they can pull of the outright upset, they can stay within the generous number. This matchup reminds us of a play we cashed last Tuesday with Purdue over Illinois. There we took a Boilermakers team that was on a similar 3-game SU/ATS losing skid and they responded with a 84-78 win. Carbondale used to be a difficult venue for visitors, but this year's edition of Southern Illinois is not that good as evidenced by the Salukies pedestrian 5-3 home record. Keep in mind that WKU beat SIU last year by nine as 1.5-point underdogs. The Hilltoppers are now 30-16 ATS their last 46 games vs. teams with a winning record and are much better than their recent play would seem to indicate. In fact, two weeks ago, this game would have been a virtual Pick Em. WKU has beaten both Vanderbilt and Mississippi State this season and those are two NCAA tournament type teams. Southern Illinois certainly is not. Take Western Kentucky.
