There is automatic extra ENERGY in Charlotte this evening among both fans and players with word that the legendary Michael Jordan will head an ownership group that is going to buy the Bobcats franchise. The line in this game is extremely strange considering that Dallas is riding a 7-game winning streak but yet has been cast as a road underdog against an opponent who has never beaten them. Since the franchise was re-born in Charlotte the Bobcats are 0-11 against the Mavericks, but the most recent pair of clashes indicates that the tide may be changing. The last time these two teams met back in December the game was decided in OVERTIME by a very slim ONE point margin. The prior meeting saw the Mavericks beat the Bobcats by just a 5-point margin. What is interesting to note is that both of those games were played in Dallas where the Bobcats did not have the home court advantage that they will be enjoying this evening. Speaking of HOME court Charlotte’s overall record (20-7) has been extremely solid which explains why they are actually laying points this evening. Charlotte who is led by veteran head coach Larry Brown currently has their highest win-percentage in franchise history and are for the moment locked in to the #8 playoff position in the Eastern Conference. My database research indicates that Charlotte is an outstanding 12-2 ATS this season when shaking off 4 outright losses in a 6-game span, which is a sign of solid coaching. On the other hand Dallas is a dreadful 1-8 ATS this season when off 3 consecutive tilts that have played above the posted total
