Saturday Daytime College Opinions

Temple (-2½) over DAYTON

Dayton is coming off a 14 point loss at Rhode Island and that game sets up the Flyers in a negative 43-120-7 ATS situation today against a Temple squad that usually beats the teams that they are supposed to beat. The Owls are 47-18-3 ATS the last 3 seasons against teams with a win percentage of less than .700 as long as they’re not favored by 14 points or more (7-2 ATS this season). All of Temple’s losses this season have been against teams that are at least 3 points better than Dayton so I expect the Owls to win this game with Dayton in a negative situation. My ratings favor Temple by 2 ½ points but F Lavoy Allen is questionable for the Owls with a sprained ankle and he’s a solid contributor on the boards and defensively (1.7 blocks per game). I don’t want to make Temple a Best Bet without knowing Allen’s status, so I’ll just lean with the Owls in this game at -3 or less.

FURMAN (-4) over Davidson

Davidson has won 5 consecutive games, but the Wildcats apply to a negative 42-91-6 ATS road letdown situation that is based on that winning streak. Furman, meanwhile, is 18-6-1 ATS in their last 25 lined home games and the Paladins have the revenge motive. My ratings favor Furman by 4 points and I’ll lean with Furman minus the points based on the letdown situation that applies to Davidson.
