Saturday Daytime College Opinions

COLORADO (-4) over Iowa State

Colorado is 11-3 straight up at home and their only home losses were against very good teams Kansas, Kansas State, and Missouri. The Buffaloes beat Oklahoma by 10 points, Nebraska by 12 points, and Baylor by 7 points in their other conference home games this season and the Buffs are 32-15-1 ATS in conference games under coach Jeff Bzdelik. Iowa State is just 3-8 ATS since losing sharp shooter Lucca Staiger (42.5% 3-pointers) to a European professional league and the Cyclones don't usually play well away from home in Big 12 play. In fact, Iowa State is just 3-30 straight up against Big 12 opponents away from home under coach Greg McDermott and the Cyclones are just 2-13 ATS in their last 15 such games when not getting more than 12 points. My ratings favor Colorado by 5 1/2 points and I'll lean with the Buffaloes at -4 or less and I'd take Colorado in a 2-Star Best Bet at -3 or less.

UTAH (-14 1/2) over Wyoming

Wyoming has dropped 7 consecutive games straight up and to the spread, which coincides with the absence of defensive ace A.J. Davis and the season ending injury to leading scorer Afam Muojeke. Utah, meanwhile, is better in the games that Jay Watkins has played and my ratings favor the Utes by 17 points. I'll lean with the Utes at -15 or -14 1/2 and I'd take Utah in a 2-Star Best Bet at -14 points or less.

Old Dominion -6

When the Monarchs host the Rams in the game of the regular season for both teams at the Ted Constant Convocation Center this afternoon they will do so knowing VCU is 0-7 ATS as a dog in season ending finales. In addition, ODU is 6-0 ATS in games when avenging a same season loss of 10 or more points. With Commomwealth off a 24-point revenge win over James Madison and just 3-11 SU and ATS away in games after facing the Dukes, including 0-11 SU as dogs, look for ODU to clinch conference honors with a convincing win here today. We recommend a 3-unit play on Old Dominion.
