You have to give credit to St. Mary’s for going into Gonzaga and defeating the Bulldogs Thursday night for its first ever win at McCarthey Athletic Center. Unfortunately we were on the wrong side of that outcome but now the Gaels head out on the road for their third straight game away from home within a span of a week and the venue this time does not get any easier. St. Mary’s is still undefeated at 6-0 in the WCC and the bullseye on its back has gotten even bigger with other teams falling back in the pack. Portland was supposed to be in a rebuilding season but it came out of the gates strong and has maintained its strong play. The Pilots are 3-3 in the conference with all three losses coming on the road and all three wins coming at home. Granted the home wins have not come against the best of competition but wins are wins and at least they aren’t losing those. They are 11-1 at home this season with the only blemish coming against Kentucky back in mid-November. Portland has won the last two home meetings against the Gaels. The Pilots are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games against teams with a winning road record and they are a perfect 8-0 ATS in their last eight home games against teams that commit 14 or fewer turnovers per game. As mentioned, this is the third straight road game for St. Mary’s and it is just 23-42 in its last 65 games following two consecutive road games. The home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings, winning five of those games outright as well. 9* Portland Pilots

Drexel +2
This is a revenge game for the Dragons, who lost as big 11-point home favorites in the CAA opener to Hofstra, which kicked off the Pride's surprising 6-1 run to start league play. However, as predicted, Hofstra got exposed last time out in a 15-point winner for us on Thursday w/ Va Commonwealth and in their other test vs. a CAA heavyweight, they were again beaten by double digits, this time by Old Dominion. Drexel always seems to play well on the road in this series, going 7-2 ATS in this building since '02 and that may have something to do with the always strong presence of NYC kids on HC Bruiser Flint's roster. Three players in the Dragons backcourt are from the Big Apple, so this is a homecoming of sorts for them. Also, Drexel is 28-12 ATS when seeking revenge for a home loss. Hofstra's loss to ODU sets the blueprint here as the Dragons are a very stout defensive team, holding foes to just 59.6 PPG for the year. Other than Hofstra, only William & Mary has shot better than 43% from the floor against them. Five different conference opponents have been held under 40%. We don't see Pride F Imes going 8 for 8 from the floor again like he did in the first meeting. The Dragons are a strong 9-2 ATS in games where the line is between +3 and -3. Take Drexel.
