BYU at Kansas State
Prediction: BYU

25* graded play on BYU as they take on Kansas State in round 2 of the NCAA Tournament set to start at 5:40 EST. Our proprietary sports handicapping model and simulator shows a high probability that BYU will lose this game by fewer than 4 points and also has an excellent opportunity to win this game. Consider placing a 20* with the points and 5* on the money as an alternative wager. Model projects that BYU will score more than 81 points and this benchmark has been very good news for BYU in past games. Note that they are 14-6 ATS this year, 26-11 ATS the past 3 seasons, and 67-18 ATS since 1997 when the have scored more than 81 points in a game. K-State is just 2-4 ATS this season, 4-13 ATS the past 3 seasons, and 14-38 ATS since 1997 when the have allowed 81 in a game. BYU is a team that K-state does not match up well against nor have they played well against in past games. Note that they are 0-7 ATS (-7.7 Units) in road games versus good passing teams that are averaging >=16 assists/game after 15+ games over the last 3 seasons; 1-8 ATS (-7.8 Units) in road games versus good passing teams, averaging >=16 assists/game over the last 3 seasons; 5-14 ATS (-10.4 Units) in road games versus very good teams outscoring their opponents by 8+ points/game over the last 3 seasons. Take BYU.

The Duke's Sports

Saint Mary's (+5) for 3.5 Units

The Gaels have played consistently well throughout the year and have risen to the occasion in tournament action. The Gaels are equipped with the right personnel to do more damage in this tourney. They have a big inside presence with Samhan who will be a matchup problem for the smaller Wildcats. Sure, the Wildcats have an outstanding backcourt with Reynolds and Fisher who manage to get to the foul line. However, the Gaels' McConnell has stepped up his game and their bench is producing. Villanova has been too yielding on the defensive end of the floor, turnover laden, and disciplinary problems may catch up to them here. We'll grab the Gaels and the points.

3 Units Murray St. +5

This is way too many points for Butler to be getting against a very quality opponent in Murray State. The Racers controlled the game throughout against Vanderbilt in the 1st round, as that win was not a fluke. The key to Murray State is that they have great overall team play and experience. They don't rely on one star player, which means opponents struggle to stop them. Meanwhile, Butler was able to use some very hot shooting to defeat UTEP in the 1st round, despite trailing at halftime. UTEP also did not play well in the 2nd half, as they got too down on themselves once Butler made a run. However, Murray State is very composed and believe that they should be here. The Racers athletes are more than capable of hanging with Butler as well. This game will be very hard fought and go down to the wire, which means receiving five points in a game decided by 1-3 points is very significant. Look for Murray State to get the point spread cover and possibly win outright.
