The Duke's Sports

Portland (+4) for 2 Units

The Blazers have picked up their game. Their defensive intensity remains strong and their offensive versatility got a shot in the arm with Gerald Wallace now settling in. Portland is 7-2-1 ATS on the road, and they've covered 7 of the last 9 in this series, including 4-0 ATS at Oklahoma City. The Blazers are playing with double revenge and have the incentive of fighting for a playoff birth currently in the six-seeding. Oklahoma City, however, has not been a good home favorite in this spread range at 1-7 ATS and has flopped on Sundays at 5-22 ATS. Oklahoma City needs a win tonight to clinch a playoff birth. That may happen, but we don't expect them to cover. Portland the call.

Nick "BookieKiller" Parsons

8* Bruins / Flyers Under 5.5

For a number of different reasons I believe the value in this contest is on the "under":

The Bruins have seen the total go "under" the number in 37 of 65 this year (with nine "pushes"); yesterday they lost 1-0 to the Rangers, which was on the heels of a 7-0 win over the Habs.

Note that Boston has seen the total go "under" the number in 8 of 12 after scoring 1-goal or less in their previous game.

On the other side of the rink: The Flyers have seen the total go "under" the number in 42 of 74 this year, including in 21 of 37 in front of the home town crowd; yesterday they won 4-1 over the Islanders, which snapped a two game losing streak.

Note that Philadelphia has seen the total go "under" the number of 23 of 31 after scoring 4-goals or more in their previous game.

Bottom line: It's an important game for both teams; with a win the Bruins will punch their ticket to the post-season; the Flyers are trying to get home ice advantage throughout the playoffs and finish strong down the stretch.

When these teams last met on January 13th, the Bruins held on for a 7-5 victory.

But in this game which will have a playoff atmosphere, I expect a very closely checked contest and for goaltending to lead the headlines in tomorrow's headlines; 8* EASTERN-CONFERENCE "BEST BET" on the UNDER!
