Atlanta Flames -120

The Flames rallied for a victory in their first game back from the break, their fifth straight. They're still 11-17 on the road though and they haven't won six in a row for more than two years. Facing a "desperate" Atlanta team and playing at a venue where they've struggled, I expect their winning streak to come to an end here.

Calgary has been outscored by a 2.9 to 2.4 margin on the road this season. Admittedly, Atlanta hasn't been that great at home either - the Thrashers have been outscored by a 2.8 to 2.7 margin here. That said, the Thrashers have dominated the Flames here in recent seasons and they know they absolutely need points, if they want to stay in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

While the Flames are 7-12 in road games with an O/U line of 5.5, the Thrashers are a more respectable 9-9 when playing a home game with an O/U line of 5.5.

The Thrashers are also 22-20 (+4.2) the past few seasons, after scoring one goal or less in their previous game. During that stretch, they've quietly gone an excellent 25-17 (+10) when facing a team with a losing record (vs. the moneyline) during the second half of the season.

Despite being underdogs in each of the six games, the Thrashers are 5-0, with one tie, as a host of the Flames, dating back to 1999. Desperate for points, I expect them to improve on those stats here.

UC Davis +3.5

At first blush, this would seem to be a pretty pedestrian game between two subpar squads that are pretty even. However, all the trends favor our side. Cal Poly SLO is just 8-20 ATS in its last 28 home games, including 3-16 ATS vs. conference foes. You simply cannot lay points with a squad that averages only 55 PPG on its home floor and an 0-6 ATS home mark when laying 3.5 to 9.5 points bears that out. Cal Davis, meanwhile, is 24-11 ATS in all road games the last three seasons, including a perfect 8-0 ATS if off BB home games. They are also 15-6 ATS L21 as a road dog and have revenge for an 'ugly' 48-43 loss on their home floor last month.
