Lenny Del Genio

Boston -1

The sportsbooks have made the Celtics a slim 1-point favorite tonight due to the suspension of Garnett. However, we believe this was way too big of an adjustment. We believe the other Celtics will step up and more than make up the difference for the loss of the “washed up” Garnett. The last time the Celtics faced this Heat team without Garnett Boston outscored Miami in the paint 54-36 and visited the free throw line 41 times. The Heat scored only 76 points against this Boston team, shooting only 39% from the field, due to the Celtics great defense, especially in the fourth quarter. Boston will hold the Heat down again and will look for them to play extra hard without Garnett. Look for Pierce and Allen to have big nights tonight and lead Boston to a home win and a 2-0 series lead. 25* play on Boston!

3 Units Atlanta

The zig-zag theory is a much debated theory when it comes to the NBA playoffs. Some people think that the team who lost against the spread in Game 1 will cover in Game 2. However, that theory won’t apply to this game. The Hawks are one of the best home teams in the league, and they have playoff experience. Atlanta had six players score in double figures, while Milwaukee only had Brandon Jennings score 34 points without much help from anyone other than John Salmons. The Bucks were on a terrific point spread run over the second half of the season, but they are just simply overmatched here playing at the Hawks. Atlanta simply turns things up a notch in the playoffs at home, and they are more talented and experienced than Milwaukee. I think that the difference in this game from a point spread perspective is that Atlanta is playing their best basketball in the playoffs, while Milwaukee is in uncharted and unfamiliar territory. As a result, you have a difference in performance from the regular season, where the Bucks were a dominant point spread team. This point spread will be close at the end, but I feel that Atlanta will win by enough to cover.

Boston -1

Miami are too Wade-dimensional. Wade lacks the offesive supporting cast to be successful in the playoffs, especially on the road vs. the Boston Celtics. If Miami are to win this game, they would need career best type numbers from at least two role players. And that's not likely to happen, especially after Boston finally turned on the 'defensive switch' vs. the Heat in the second half of G#1. Boston exposed Miami's O ineptness by holding the visitors to 32 second-half points, with only 10 points allowed in the 4th quarter. Tony Allen & Boston's team defense, did a fantastic job of keeping Wade from driving to the basket. Not worried about Garnett suspension. The Celtics can replace his production with a deep bench. And BTW, Boston have won 6 straight in this series & 9 of L10 meetings. Take the Celtics.

Tampa Bay Under (8) [Price/Danks] for 3 Units

TB has been a road warrior but should fall short of their mark here. The Rays have not ht lefties well this year (.188 BA) and face a dominant one in Danks tonight. Danks, who sports a 4-1 mark with a 2.67 ERA in 5 starts vw TB, has been rock solid thus far (1.38 ERA). On the other hand, David Price has been outstanding for TB with a 2.45 ERA. And the ChicSox are also having trouble vs lefties (.210 BA). Furthermore, this series has been a lower scoring one 7-20 O/U, including 0-6 O/U in Chicago. The 'Sox have a tendency to slow a big run producing team down; after all, they're 1-7 O/U when an opponent scores 5+ in previous game. "Under" the call.
